Food
Sorry, but I've been on a mega diet since June and today I have reached my three stone target, so I'm like well pleased!!! But, I need to talk about food, as therapy, so what are your all time favourite meals?

Re: Food
Any game meat with a red wine reduction, but the best meal had to be one made by some Brit backpacker chick on a cattle station.
Buffalo casserole with herb dumplings. My last meal if I ever get arrested for jaywalking in the States.

So that was why you've been so quiet for months?Demelza wrote:Sorry, but I've been on a mega diet since June and today I have reached my three stone target, so I'm like well pleased!!! But, I need to talk about food, as therapy, so what are your all time favourite meals?
This weekend I gave a dinner party for eight. On the menu was:
Cocktail:
Homemade alcoholic lemonade
Entree:
Vegetable terrine with home-pickled mushrooms and tomatoes, char-grilled sweet pepper and zucchini, and home-made ricotta in a wrapping of thinly sliced eggplant.
Main meal:
Leg of lamb stuffed with garden grown fresh basil, garlic, feta and marinated tomato quarters, served with a slightly minty gravy, or
Slices of nut, herb and lentil loaf
Couscous
Warm bell pepper, butternut, olive and feta salad with balsamic reduction
Pudding:
Coconut sorbet served in half coconut shells
Cheese platter:
Brie, home-made blue cheese mousse with walnuts, crackers, fresh cherries, grapes, chocolates and zucchini cake.
Came out quite nicely. A bit worried, though, about the guy who went through several dozen cherries like a pacman...

Re: Food
I'm not an expert Demelza, but I don't think scoffing mayonnaise direct from a big tub will help, if that's you!
Seriously though, well done!!
My favourite meal at the moment is cod and chips.

Re: Food
Mynah, that all sounds lovely (except for the lamb bit and BLUE CHEESE!)
Coconut Sorbet
Sasha, I've simply cut down on the carbs. It's been very difficult, but it works.

Re: Food
Lordy. 3 stone!! I'd need to chop both legs off to achieve such a feat.
