I was thinking when I bumped this thread that most if not all of the old cats discussed during its previous incarnation would have snuffed it, hopefully after 9 happy lives in all cases ... admit to being slightly envious of those who can keep a pet safely. Mine have all been gone nearly 10 years now.

I thought it was a joke until I read it. Crab pots anyone?

my last moggy departed in 2005...thought about getting another cat last year but concluded i am too old now to see out another pet

You could get a budgie or goldfish!!

Also generally less grief when you're left.
