Re: History
So, more to do with the study of society, economics, and history rather than a specific era of time?

Re: History
It really depends on if it's part of the compulsory cirriculum up until year 10.
I cannot remember what the syllabus was for this.
If you took History as an elective into Year 12 then you would be studying varying things.
In Modern History I remember studying the
American Civil War
IndoChina
In Ancient History I remember studying the Etruscans and that is about all I remember.

Q: How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?
A: No-one knows, they've never tried.

There is no such thing as ancient or medieval Indian history.

Re: History
We did the Magna Carta and all that stuff.
Then all the social and economic stuff of Britain in the 19th Century.
Later on we did the Tudors and Stuarts and Europe from Bismarck to Starlin.
All very fasinating.

Re: History
At school we did Australian history both pre and post Europeans as well as some really ancient stuff. For the HSC, I did modern history which included Meiji Japan, British India, Causes of WWI, Germany between the Wars and causes of WWII.

Re: History
Aboriginal history goes back pretty far. Historical sources are a little hard to find however.

Re: History
No, I know the Aboriginals are pretty old.........but, like you said, I doubt there's very little record.

Re: History
My history teacher fought in Burma during the 2nd world war and had one fugly face - he always told us he'd been slashed by a jap with a bayonet.
We reckoned that was just an excuse for his fuglyness
