he's only doing what his team is asking him to do
sehwag falls to duminy. loss of concentration? that was pretty soft. india needs to guard against a late collapse like the saffies with the light fading fast

It's unbelievable how quickly they've done it! One-nil up and 1/218 cruising to an unassailable position and then 5 1/2 hours of cricket later, they are dead in the water.
Let's all laugh at South Africa.

Played, SRT. Keep rackin' 'em up, little man.
Sounds like a tidy knock from Viru.

So Sehwag gone. Now all he has to do is perform well on SA pitches this summer and he can be considered a great.

What a fabulous partnership between Sachin & Sehwag. Soft dismissal though. India needs to get a lead of at least 200 from here.
And Sachin goes now.

We should be lucky to score 400 from here.

Got to say Tendulkar went back to his shell a bit during last few overs.

So another of Srikanth's favorite bites dust again.
Never thought he'd be good enough at int'l level.

Tendulkar and Sehwag have done huge disservice to India by their tired strokes. Now SA won't allow India to take a lead of not more than 70-80 runs.

Thats stumps.
So it was just a matter of surviving for 2-3 more overs.

Also, VVS completes 7000 test runs, 5th Indian to do so.

India well on top after the saffers choked AGAIN in India. Four tons to date with some poor batting around them but SA will surely rue letting Sehwag off the hook twice with poor fielding by players in uncustomary positions.

Well, there's another great day for Test cricket. Gotta love it. Even if the Jaaps avoided those two records skully alluded to on about page 5.

Same thing happened in the Perth test when Johnson ran riot after a good saffer start. They're prone to collapses. They could have arrested the situation by controlling Sehwag but poor fielding let them down.

Expect a fair few off-cutters from Steyn. Those poor stumps are going to see a lot of action before this Test is out.
74.6 Steyn you beauty! It was the vicious off cutter, cutting in from just outside off stump, Badrinath is clueless as he pushes out tentatively and the ball rushes through the bat and pad gap to crash against the off stump. Badri totally exposed there; Steyn has been working him through that over. Totally outclassed. And South Africa are back in the hunt. The game is alive and kicking. What more can one ask? 336/5

Lead of 46 with 5 wickets in hand, with Laxman at the wicket and MSD to come, surely the Bannies would be looking for a 150+ lead.
Yarps in big trouble.

lazy stuff from the two centurions at the end of the day. extremely poor shots considering the match situation and they should be sorely dissapointed
anything less than a 150 run lead will make it tough for india

Doubt it, SA batting could easily collapse again and it's not as if they have spinners themselves.

Poor end to the day for India but I'd take that score. One of VVS or MS has to score 50+ tomorrow for India to have a possibly safe lead.

SRT whatta guy. And of course Viru.
Did not see this Badri innings. On the basis of his 50 in the last Test I was willing to give him a run, despite the fact that he seemed prone to lunging hopefully forward bat well ahead of and separate from body.
Now I'm not so sure going by what cricinfo is saying.
