Stephen Wundke
Do any of the Aussies on the forum his great catch from the mid 80s in a JAMODD game?
I have been trying to find a vid of it on the net but have never been able to do it. Would appreciate if someone could find it.

Re: Stephen Wundke
It's on a video that featured some of the best catches from twenty-three years of Nine coverage. I'm disappointed they have never released a follow-up as they've been thousands of great catches since and it's the sort of thing you can keep watching. Would you like me to dub you a copy and send it off to you, or if I can manage, burn it to DVD? I haven't watched it for some time but remember his catch being on it.

Haven't got the time to do that but if you provide an address (just has to be a PO BOX), I can send you a DVD of the whole set of catches.

I've stopped picking up trifling errors months ago and I know I make typos left, right and centre.Clamson wrote:Red wrote:It's on a video that featured some of the best catches from twenty-three years of Nine coverage. Wundke catch
Hi just be reading some of the stuf about the catch taken by Steve Wundke on the Adelaide oval all those years ago. I am Steve's brother and have been trying for years to get a copy in video of the catch. We got some pics around the time and I did up a big frame for his birtday one year but would really appreciate info. on where to get this video some of you have mentioned that nine put out or a copy burnt and posted if someone had the time.
Thankyou in advance hope someone can help. Steve lives in England has done for 28yrs now hven't seen him since '96 but will be going over next year for his 50th, would be great to take a copy.

Do people ask you if you are related to Stephen (or I guess Michael).

Yeah, both the ones that remember the old days of sa footy. Michael, my uncle was one of the guys who cut down the goal post at Adelaide oval after a grand final in the late 50's. They hit the same one to lose 2 yrs in a row.

Well best of luck Catchers Brother, if you're going to rely on this sorry lot for help with photographs.
I've been asking them for help with a photo myself and could they care?
Don't be surprised if someone sends you crude hand drawn images of Wundke 'making that catch'.
Now that we're talking you wouldn't happen to recall a picture like this would you?
I feel we could be brothers, searching for pictures and all, but my name isn't Wundke.

It shows a batsman who's just about prevented himself from being stumped. He is stretched out, arched out almost impossibly far forward, completely beaten with bat up, but with his back foot just behind the line as the keeper takes his bails off. It is one of those superbly etched pictures, the beaten batsman managing to look very graceful.
It was cited as an example of how to cover yourself against the chance of being stumped if you're beaten.
I don't remember much else.
I feel we could be brothers, searching for pictures and all, but my name isn't Wundke.
