Shouldn't James Foster be ahead of all of them?
I just think he's been given such a raw deal by the England selectors. Almost without doubt the best keeper in England, and his batting over the last 3-4 years stacks up favourably against any other keeper in the country. He was picked for the T20 side last year and did an excellent job with the gloves, whist getting minimal opportunities with the bat.
Forget Keiswetter and Davies- Foster should be England's reserve keeper.

No.
Batting's too weak. He's a slightly stodgier Chris Read.

Well Prior's been a decent test keeper/bat for a couple of years now- good to have some stability there. Foster's only got weedy arms and can't hit he ball very far so he's no use in the shorter format stuff.
That's why he's not ahead of any of them.

He should be ahead of Bedwetter for tests, but as above, his batting isn't that good. Batting at least a place too high for Essex.

He's actually a decent one day nurdler and can hit the ball at times (hence the 5 sixes in an over in 'Kanerias' match last year)

Pecking order would seem to be: Prior, Davies... Wetter and/or possibly Timbrose. For Tests anyway.
ODIs, Craig Moistsheets looks like he's going to get a run.

Getting it over that garden fence wasn't a big hit- I bet he had to shin it over to collect those five sixes from Mrs Plumtree's garden as well.
His arms are like the arm equivalent of a flamingo's leg.

It's Dave Masters you should be training your body-fascist sights on.

Don't see how Foster can be slotted in - best keeper maybe, but where does he bat? No. 8 or 9 probably - no use in a side which more often than not needs to play five bowlers, none of whom (or the likely candidates) are good enough to bat at 6.

Well he keeps making runs in County cricket. Not really sure what else he can do.

Mark Wallace scored 79* v Middlesex at Lords yesterday and he doesn't even make it onto Trev's little list.
Poor form, Trev.

You have to feel sorry for Foster. If he hadn't broken his arm in the nets in 2002 - letting Grandpa Alec back in the team - he might've been England's equivalent of Boucher by now.
As it is, he's been leapfrogged by all sorts in recent years - pensioners (Nixon), window-licking retards (Mustard), giant piles of animal faeces (Read), South Africans (Bedwetter) and bizarre gnome-type creatures (Ambrose).

He's had chances to really impress though. His last Lions tour, he scored in binary and that was pretty much the end of that.

And let's face it, if you can't get a go when one of your former teammates is head coach when are you?
