In the T20 world cup Afridi did a far better job than established captains like Dhoni and Smith.

There is quite simply no other option left so Butt is not a bad choice...lets look at some other "options"

Malik- Banned(and i am glad)
Asif- Classless individual
Akhtar- lol
Kamran- He is an option but for now he should focus on his goal keeping.

AFAIK, Kaneria will hopefully make the most of his playing status before his trial in September.

Pakistan should seize this window of opportunity and select him for one or both of the summer Test series.

I doubt the nagging line of Ajmal will be enough to snap the strong batting orders of either side. He didn't really impress down under and given Pakistan's track record, you'd think they would pick someone who is thoroughly at home in English conditions.

A Rehman isn't a bad bowler, he may replace Kaneria

They might aswell give Kaneria a last chance before a potential banning.

Also with Shoaib Akhtar as captain you will need a good vice-captain as he can't play every game.
