Praveen too gone first ball, Mahroof on hattrick.
3 wickets in 3 balls, though Dhoni was run out.

I think you'd better explain that to skully, SG. He seems to have a problem with it.SG wrote:Thats hattrick for Mahroof.

No problem, jr, just surprised as the suddenness of it.
But then again, this is Bannie cricket so sudden collapses shouldn't be a shock, espesh when John the Bookie is lurking in the shadows.

Idiots, the lot of them. Harakiri specialists. I guess they'll now come back and win the finals, which will wipe the smile off SG's face.skully wrote:No problem, jr, just surprised as the suddenness of it.

Erm, I think MB said "Thank Zat" not "Thanks Zat".
Pedant.
Well, I'm glad that was all sorted out. Obviously it was much more entertaining than the match itself.skully wrote:Well, I caught a flash of the duplicate thread that Frommie created and I think A used some abusive quote from Zog. Inconsequential ODIs within a JAMODI series. The motions have been gone through. Hopefully this is the one that India had to drop on the way.

Piss poor performance by Indian batsmen. Its futile to lay any blame on bowlers as they're already hapless entities.

And seriously, my patience is over with Jadeja.
He has got to be worst ever player to play int'l cricket. The way he got out yesterday says all about his batting abilities and cricinfo aptly described him as a dear caught in headlights. And that was against the 'pace' of Mahroof.
If such players (him, Dinda, Praveen, Nehra, Zaheer, etc) are our hope for future then we can seriously bid goodbye to our hopes to reach at least SF in next year's WC.

Give Jadeja a break. he's had a lot of ups and downs so far in his career, but don't forget that he's only 21 years old. Geez, you guys will write off a player so quickly if he doesn't achieve immediate success.

Immediate success?
For heaven's sake, he is a regular in Indian ODI team for more than an year now. His decent batting average looks decent just because he played some absolutely inconsequential innings in some ODIs when the games were already lost.
And if 1 year is not enough time for proving your credentials then I seriously don't know what else would be.

And what ups and downs in his career?
Not being allowed to play an IPL, that too because he broke some rules laid by IPL GC? Does that constitute 'up and down' in your dictionary, Trevor?

Clearly Jadeja is only playing for lack of any acceptable pace all-rounder. Irfan Pathan should be in the squad in his place and probably will be soon as soon as Srikanth vacates. The only thing Jadeja has going for him is his decent economy rate, The bowling, with or without Jadeja, is dismal. It's time for Pathan to return. Should Irfan fail periodically, there are plenty of other viable spinners who, in combination, will prudently fill 10 overs. Zaheer, Praveen/Ishant, Irfan, Bhajji should, IMO, build the nucleus of the Indian attack as seen today.

The thing with Jadeja is lack of application more than lack of ability (esp. batting). In his short career, the no of times he got out in ridiculous ways is mind boggling. And his face. The most punchable in the Indian team.
