I was there that day.

I think it was Brad Young's greatest contribution to cricket - it started the ball rolling on making ropes mandatory at all grounds regardless of size.

Ricky Ponting did a similar thing a season later and the administrators rushed to introduce yet another change that favoured the batsman.
