Even if he does nothing in the upcoming ODI series, they'll still pick him for the World Cup if he makes himself available. It's up to him. He'll know if his eyes are still ok or not. If he feels in his heart that he's gone then I think he'll step down.

I'm being absolutely honest when I say I can't remember the last time I saw Luke Wright time a ball off the middle of the bat.

Fools! Had to get Woakes back on strike for that last ball. Bressy can't hit sixes to save his life.

Should've won that comfotably after the start but T20 can swing in an over..... how it got down to 18 needed off the last fark knows....
We're currently carrying a couple of passengers in Wright & Colly - not sure you can afford to do that.

Moral victory to Aus in the 2 "match" series? Yeah, yeah, clutching at straws, I know.

Ah, yes well done Australia.
Overs 8-12 were the killer... when Bell was out England needed 92 off 14 overs with 10 wickets...

England got 1 six in 20 overs. You can see why the world loves this game.

A good tight series in the end, shame it was only 2 games, should have replaced at least 3 of the uncompetitive tests with more of the t20s.

England still yet to lose a T20 series, how long has it been now?

To be fair, most T20 'series' consist of one game.

We've retained the "Twashes" with a drawn series having beaten them in the one-off game WT20 final last year... now for the hat-trick with the "JAMashes" in the ODI series?

Once again SHYTE shows he should not be anywhere near a Australian team.
Kudos to the bird for some big hitting after the middle order went MIA.

Seems to have captained well. Especially seeing as the selectors have lumbered him with the quadumpharate of sh!te that is Bung, Tait, Mitch & that square faced little mascot
The ball that got him out spun a mile and should never have been given out.
Re: Australia v England, Second T20, Melbourne, Jan 14, 2011
Bell, for all his improvement in recent times, always will be a 'touch' player. If the pitch is quick and the outfield fast, he'll score quickly, but if the conditions are as they were last night, he'll struggle.
Davies was disappointing as well. What is it with England keepers in one day cricket? they come in with reputations of being big hitters, but after a few games they're scratching around at the top of the order, scoring 15 off 25 balls, and crabbing up the joint.

Re: Australia v England, Second T20, Melbourne, Jan 14, 2011
Davies has never been touted as a big hitter. What are you talking about? He scores a lot of runs opening up in limited overs cricket, but with normal cricket shots. That's his game.
Which probably makes him the wrong choice for opening in T20s - especially in conditions like last night's was played, which was basically a glorified hack - but as Kiewswetter pulled out of the squad injured, I guess he seemed like the logical choice for two knock-about games, seeing as he was already out there and due to play the ODIs.

Re: Australia v England, Second T20, Melbourne, Jan 14, 2011
I should have said "players who score quickly."
Davies is a timer of the ball, but his strike rate is usually very good. Yeah, the conditions were sh!t. I'd still have Davies opening in the ODIs.
Wouldn't have Kieswetter in the World Cup squad. Prior seems to be getting to grips with the shorter forms, and his attitude and contribution to the England dressing room is huge.
