The TV thread
Why not?
Anyone heard anything about Sh!t My Dad Says with the Shat? It premieres tonight on Nein and the shorts look pretty funny.
I fell for the "shorts look pretty funny" with Ten's Modern Family, which turned out to be carp.

Re: The TV thread
Modern Family is brilliant.
Sh!t My Dad Says has moments. Usually one per episode. And enormous amounts of canned laughter. As each ep goes 22 minutes, it's not great, but will get renewed for a second season. Even though (if Nein show the eps in the same order as the US, you'll see this soon enough) the storyline got seriously confused, with one couple in the show having a dog, then not having a dog, then 'adopting' the dog that had already been seen in previous eps.
Two shows worth watching - Sons Of Anarchy (3 Series screened so far) and Justified (2nd season starts soon, a week or so away)

Re: The TV thread
Shat was mildly funny. Might have a look next week. Prolly more about what Capt. Kirk has done with his life than anything.
Can't agree on Modern Family. Pure pap to me. A massive waste of the talents of Al Bundy.

Re: The TV thread
Top Gear last night staged its own version of the Ashes with various trials against your Aussie TG presenters who'd been flown in. Needless to say our boys came top, largely as a result of rigging the tasks and having superior cheating skills.
I know there's a thread somewhere more appropriate for this trivia, but I can't be arsed to find it.

Sky are launching a new channel which will show a lot of the big name HBO shows coming out of the states including Boardwalk Empire, Blue Bloods, Treme and Son's of Anarchy as well as the back catalogue of The Wire and Sopranos etc.
Or you could just download it all...

Yeah, I've seen 6,000 incredibly gay adverts for Sky Atlantic. God, pretensh!
I'm just digging the Hawaii 5-0 series coming out on Sky 1. Sure it'll be gash though and I'll end up sacking it after three episodes.
That and Mad Dogs. Though they're all northern - Beesley, Glenister, Simm blah blah - could make me gag and stab my leg whilst sandpapering my cheek.

Danny you bellend - Glenister's a southern pansy. It's only in his Gene Hunt guise that he's yer bona fide Manc.
Also, Marc Warren's a Northants lad like you.

Saw an advert for that.... actor could barely keep a straight face at the 'book em Danno' line.... doesn't bode well

Aye, I knew about Marc Warren, I forgot he was in it - didn't about Phil G though, one must admit.

I'm not looking for anything too serious in it, as long as it's watchable, it's on Sunday, I just want it to distract me for an hour so that it's one that I'm not thinking about having to back to work.
Boardwalk Empire tonight, I'm intrigued, will watch it.
Re: The TV thread
CBS is most shat off at Charlie Sheen's latest bender which has shut-down production on Season 8 of Two And a Half Men. They pay the qunt $1.8M per epi and he writes himself of during the shooting season.
Saw an interview with one of the 3 porn stars that "helped" him during his 72 hour booze and drug fest. She said towards the end of the session he asked her if "25" was OK, and she said "sure", then he said "Nah, let's make it 30." Then the trollop had the class to show the $30K cheque that Charlie wrote her. That's some good head she gives.

Aye, i think i might watch it Sky Atlantic. Seems to have to some good shows on it that i've missed like The Wire, Sopranos and Six Feet Under. Not to mention Boardwalk Empire.
Even though i have Sopranos and The Wire downloaded i think i'll give this 'legal' thing a shot. At least until the adverts annoy me.

Yeah, it was quite good - it's about the very start of the prohibition era, Atlantic City - Nucky Johnson, though they've changed his name to 'Thompson' - but there's Al Capone, Lucky Luchiano et al. when they're younger - seems like it could be quite good - classic Scorsese style cinematography. The pisser is I'm out tonight and it's continued... t'interweb for me anyway then!

Scorsese. Mostly producing, but I believe he's directed the pilot. Prohibition-era fun and hijinks. And, more than likely, gangsters.
Not seen it myself, like, but it's supposed to be worth a squiz...
