Should I ask if I can be picked for Australia? I reckon I could bowl sh!t deliveries that sit up and beg to be hit for four on demand.

Why is Clarke asking Midge to do some declaration bowling?

Foxy boys AB and MEW agree it was a very poor look for Jaya. Pup caught it and immediately said the Jaya "Mahela, 100%. 100% I caught it.". MEW basically said WTF is wrong with the umpires? It was a clear catch. Jaya was obviously hoping a blade of grass was involved.

Jeezus H, he's bowled some half volleys. He's played Sammy into form with his dross. I could've hit some of those balls for four.JGK wrote:Why is Clarke asking Midge to do some declaration bowling?

Foxy boys making an interesting point. Because Jaya stood his ground, the umpires referred it. They checked the no-ball first and then the catch, both of which were fair, but SL have not lost a referral. MEW reckons Jaya was desperately trying to get away witha swifty, hoping that camera angle (as it often does) might have saved him.

So Jaya just didn't walk and it was the softcock umps who went upstairs? I wouldn't have thought that they check no balls in that case as the referral is only for the catch isn't it?
Either way, Jaya is within his rights not to walk.

Yep, Jaya didn't make the "T" sign, just stood his ground. They clearly showed Steady's side-on delivery stride for a no-ball, then went to the catch, which was clear-as. Seems like a big loophole.
Yes, Jaya has the right to stand his ground but in this instance it really looked like a case of "Oh, we are so farked if I'm out here, I'm gonna try one on."

From Laurie on Cricinfo "Can someone please explain to me why Copeland was ever thought of as more than an extremely average 50 over bowler? He's miles better than Mitch, but that isn't saying a lot."
Double face-slap.

Did the umps give Jaya out?
He cant refer a decision until one is made ...and an ump is allowed to confer on a catch carrying decision

Watto in to his 20th over. Not exactly what you want if we need to chase a target in a hurry.

Can't see anything but a draw for this game. They may as well pack it in now.

What's Randy from Sri Lanka, Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, Chennai Super Kings, Kandurata, Matara Sports Club, Nondescripts Cricket Club, Rahula College, Ruhuna and Sinhalese Sports Club doing at 8?
He has a FC average of only 19.
