Windies struggling at 82/3.
Don't know much about Brathwaite but he seems to be holding up his end ok.

Brathwaite only seems to have two shots- The leg side nudge, and the late cut. Still, he's young.

It's good to see that there are still young batsmen coming through who will never be seduced by the T20 $$$ because they will more than likely never have the game for it.

Still only 18, Brathwaite.

Good 50 to Brathwaite. He seems to have a lot of maturity for a young fella. Chanderpaul is rapidly overtaking him though.

Still not rikkied and we're halfway through the final session on the first day. Sad....

Must be Pete I reckon. Can't think of any other English forummers that are around as much as him other than Danny, and Danny had that sabbatical so it can't be him.

Windies' youngest test cricketer since Sobers made his debut?
Willett (Elquemedo) was young IIRC.

The Chappells and Dougie loved him, except for one innings when he grabbed 3-33.

Chiv just keeps on keeping on. India will be a tad disappointed here.

If Dhoni's fingers really are f*cked up (and he's barely diving these days because he doesn't want to hurt them) then why the f*ck are they still playing him in jamodis?
He should have at least given the gloves to Partiv Patel for the England ODIs.

Simple, Indians care more about ODIs than test cricket. TO even said that nothing would ever beat the atmosphere when India won the world cup. I'd highly doubt there would ever be a similar atmosphere after a test series.
Conversely, the atmosphere over here when we won the world 20/20 was a bit meh, but the ashes was front page news in 2005. I know the ODI world cup is obviously bigger than the 20/20 world cup but I don't think winning the ODI world cup would ever create the sort of atmosphere we have over here after a big test series (2005 being the prime example).

Yeah, but he could have still played in the beloved ODIs as a batsman only, which would have given his fingers some respite.
It's not like his keeping is invaluable in its own right.

england is not really a comparable example i guess. cricket is a minority sport there while cricket is THE sport here. to judge the national euphoria you would probably have to imagine england winning the football world cup in wembley. there is no test world cup, so this is pretty much the closest you you can get to that one 'world champions' moment
