A double ton or so from Vettori, and NZ could be back in this ....

PMSL - Paris gets Potter on the stroke of Lunch.

Useful session for Aus - 6-111. Snoozies still need 11 to make Aus bat again.

Even Vettori plays a terrible shot.

Pathetic stuff from the Kiwis. Well done to Pattinson whose bowling was in Starc contrast to a certain New South Welshman but as usual the NZ test has a certain inevitability about it.

The Qld patrons agree having voted with their feet here. In fact fewer have appeared to attend this test than the Joburg one.

Only 2nd 50 partnership for 7th wicket by Kiwis at The 'Gabba following 78 by Vaughan Brown and Sir Dick Hadlee in 1985.

Taylor again disgraced himself with poor selection but Ryder's dismissal was the softest meekly succumbing to Lyon's second ball of the morning. At least though the Aussies have held all their chances unlike their counterparts who dropped countless crucial offerings. Pattinson made a good attempt off a Warner leg hop when Brownlie tried to hit him out of the ground,

So the NSP "apparently gets it right with Patto. Looks like Watto and Bog are still in doubt for Hobart so Warner and Fuse will survive. If Cummins is fit, he'll come in for Nekid.

I think so. He hasn't been great but he hasn't been pasted as Starc has. I'd still be happy to see Milf come back.

They've put Christian FFS on standby. They might as well tell Milf that his name is in an envelope with Katich's.

On standby for whom?

We are freaking 90s England if he plays.

Still to see how they will go in less friendly conditions but a long term attack of Cummins, Patto, Starc and Lyon wouldn't suck.

Dean Brownlie may well have a test average of 100 after this test.

Now Southee throws his wicket away. Martin in. The only achievement for the kiwis today is avoiding an innings defeat.

Yes ... and Cutting being crocked has also been mentioned. Skully's post referred to 'cutting' as 'harsh' and mentioned that it was a good/prescient decision by the new selectors to make him 12th.

Presumably JGK missed that. Absolutely terrible shot by Martin.

With Pattinson's performance it's a case of Pat who? Smile

Pleasantly surprised at how well Patto bowled in that opening spell. Disappointing effort by the Snoozies.

Fuse can get a handsome 10* that he can tweet his mates about.

Dave Warner is an awesome fielder.
