Saha will get a 200 tommorrow and Ishant a 50. Ashwin to get a 100, match drawn even if it doesn't rain.

Oh no. No ways. Ashwin will find a way to stuff it by a run. A draw it will be....

Sad.
I thought Kohli and Laxman would at least be able to last to stumps. This would have meant starting day 5 with some crazy hope that they could put something together and maybe make it an interesting day's play.

This shows the folly of starting this game on Tuesday. Should've started on Aus Day then Sat and Sun would've been full days 3 & 4 with Day 5 Monday the part day to finish the Test.

Regardless of that OP, by starting on Aus Day you guaranteed Day 1, 3 and 4 were on non-work days. Shirley that was most logical?

Either that or 2, 4 and 5. I agree starting on Tuesday wasn't a good idea.

Phurt, in modern Test cricket you'd be a mug to pay full price for a Day 5 ticket, i.e. Day 5 should not be on a weekend.

What are the chances that CA leaned on Pup's shoulders to stretch the test to 5th day instead of wrapping the present up today itself for the benefit of TV studio bosses?

Re: Australia v India, 4th Test, Adelaide, 24-28 January, 2012
While Aus deserved to win this 4-0 undoubtedly, I would be wary as an Aussie fan with this win a bit. India's once fabled batting was crap undoubtedly and made it easier. The slide was meant to start somewhere. But the worry for Aus is that a majority of new batting talent before this series hasn't been a grand success either. The team has had a turbulent year behind itself and even this series the top 3 batsmen were not consistent enough and a bit shaky. The worrying aspect is that again the runs have come from the old guard of Pup, Punter and Paris and like India middle order, this too is living on a borrowed time [Punter and Paris]. The real difference this series has been bowling purely. Aus bowlers have been the guys who made the real difference where they kept our guys tied up under pressure always while ours delivered pies after pies hoping to get lucky. It will be interesting to see where this team goes a couple of years down the line. CA should learn from India's debacle and lean on Punter and Paris to quit on a high than wait to be caught on the slower side of things again. There is a remarkable similarity in both India/Aus cases here in the sense that options available for the fast aging veterans aren't quite good enough.

A special not must be made of Zaheer Khan who apart for the first test has been pedestrian and woeful rest of the tests. The sting seems to be gone in conditions most suited to his bowling.....

Never in a million years did I expect Aus to give the Bannies such a shellacking. The main bats stood up big time when needed and the bowlers hunted as a pack with superb control, line and length.
Simply outstanding team effort against a bunch of tiring legends.

It was good at the end to see the Australian players and Kohli share some mutual respect. He was the only Indian player that actually looked like he gave a sh!t instead of looking completely disinterested the whole time.
