Is Harmison the Shoaib Akthar of England?

With a wee bit less hair, he'd be a dead spit for Jayasuriya.

Right from the morning, I saw harmison as the only one capable of taking wickeds on this pitch.
Re: Sri Lanka v England, 3rd test, Galle, 18-22 Dec
Once on a pak tour, Imran was heard mentioning about usefulness of airspeed on subi pitches. I then considered it one of his usual hot-air psy-ops suggestions but after watching this match I realize why English bowling is so utterly ineffective on slowish tracks. There are no bowlers who can generate enough pace through the air.
Re: Sri Lanka v England, 3rd test, Galle, 18-22 Dec
Good to see Harmy amongst the wickets.
Now if only we can get rid of Jayawardene before he completes his 150?

Fletch was right all along to try and bring on the quicker youngsters such as Mahmood and Plunkett.

Where's finky? He jumped all over me for questioning Harmisons bowling on the sub-continent. Watching him struggling to bowl 78-82 mph military medium trundlers is pitiful to watch. What's the point?
Sorry, what? 3 wickets at 28 off 13 overs. Pretty damn good I'd say.

He bowled well after tea . . . I'd say he copped a rocket during the break coz he had been bowling half-rat pace dross in the second session.

Stick to wife-beating coke binges, gaffer - he bowled up a treat.

Its swinging and dipping around a bit at galle, I'm shoiting myself thinking of our batters facing Vaas on this deck, and Monty got a couple to turn and bounce rather alarmingly......

I expect it'll flatten out nicely and be as dead as a dodo by day three.

Maybe not. We bowl them out for 300 while the pitch is still doing a bit. The pitch flattens out nicely for our first innings. We get 550-600 and then have a real go at them with Harmy and Panesar.
There's hope yet.

We're going to get 600?
Gentleman's bet that we don't even aggregate that over both innings.

Vaughany, Bell and KP will all get hundreds in this Test.
I've probably just properly woofed them now.

Vaughan's been threatening a big one all tour - he's looked in the best touch I've seen him in years.
But he keeps finding new and interesting ways to cock it all up...
One thing's for sure, someone has to make a score this time, or there's no chance at all.
