CHRIS ROGERS (link) writes an interesting article analysing some flaws in the generation of young batsmen that should be blooming ... batting problems that aren't confined to local tyros, but seem widespread.

He avoided it by trying not to draw too much attention to his woeful early English 'summer' records followed by a huge cashing in on the flatties. THAT'S how he avoided it.............

Indeed, Dan. I thought it interesting he didn't mention his own generally poorish form.

Still, a fair and quite accurate read.

It really scares the shit out of me that technique clowns like Hughes are STILL knocking on the door of Aus selection. Where is the next Dossie or Marto? Shocked

thanx S. a really good read...have kicked myself again for not reading as much crocinfo articles as I should..

Rogers himself is at the end of his career...not blessed with great eye he has had a pretty decent career here and pomgolia...what the article shows is a keen critical eye..well written and thoughtful...enjoyed the stuff about Ronnie too

A bit rose tinted those glasses regarding his form, but will he be able discern them from regular ones?

Good read though.
