- Spoiler:
Looks like the Red Wedding will happen in the next episode? I haven't seen the most recent one so I am basing that on guesswork. I'm trying to work out the chronology re: Joffrey's death and the Red Wedding. I'm guessing Joffrey might die as a season-ender, with Sansa then being spirited away?
Irrespective, they're going to get a sh*t-load of series out of these books. It's got to be a ten-series show to get everything in. The rate d*ck-head is writing them at, they'll have caught up by the time another book is published. At the current rate, next year might be optimistic for the next book. 2017/18 for the last book. I wouldn't be surprised if the fat c*nt died before he finished it. C*nt.
- Spoiler:
The RW is scheduled for EP 9 I believe with Joffrey surviving to the next series. I am guessing we get a reprise of the bear and the maiden fair next up.
Yep GRRM must get his arse into gear.
Once again. DO NOT READ THE SPOILER IF BOOK UNAWARE.
- Spoiler:
- Is it just me or do a lot of the good characters die from here on? There's some right sh*t characters left alive. And it's yet to be determined what happens to Jon.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones)
I'm a bit obsessed with asoiaf at the moment. The TV series will clearly overtake the book as the series writers have ruled out a hiatus to let the books forge ahead. Logical reasoning being that the kids will have aged too much. I'd imagine Feast and Dance will be mashed up but I can't see them spending 3 or more years on those 2 books especially as not a huge amount happens in Feast.
2013 TV - book 3 part 1
2014 TV - book 3 part 2
BOOK 6 RELEASED (Grrm estimate)
2015 TV - book 4/5 part 1
2016 TV - book 4/5 part 2
2017 TV - book 6 part 1???
2018 TV - book 6 part 2???
BOOK 7 RELEASED?
Bearing in mind he took 5 years to write the fourth and 6 years to write the fifth. The 6th is scheduled for 3+ years. By the time the 7th comes out, the 7th series of the show should be starting. Except that it won't be written. I think they've resolved this by GRRM giving the producers of GOT outlines of the ending and relatively free reign. He's definitely told them, for example, who Jon Snow's mother is already.
By the way, I've just got the Dunk and Egg prequels (though not really) to ASOIAF. Has anyone read them? Are they any good? I'm guessing that the period of Dunk and Egg and the Blackfyres will have a large bearing on the main 7 books, especially as

It crosses my mind that television might diverge re the identity of the torturer.

So why so mysterious about the identity? It's not like the one in the frame is Ned Stark's long thought dead twin brother.

........... and given that, I expect to see more characters such as Ros who are there to convey various thoughts and themes from a multiple characters in the television adaptation and hence my suspicion that the torturer might be some hybrid.

Cool, they always mention Summerhall so will be intriguing stuff to see exactly what went on instead of just "fire and magic".. Will give them a go as I've got the graphic novel of the second one.
I don't think there's really another solution for Jon's heritage than

- Rhaegar and Lyanna for me too. He can't be a true born king because Rhaegar was already married to Elia Martell, which still keeps Dany first in line. But because he has Targaryen blood, he probably is one of the 'three heads' of the dragon.
Ofcourse, Martin might be leading me on and killing off both of them in the next book and make Samwell Tarly the supreme ruler. Or something.

- The whole Rhaegar-Lyanna thing might be too obvious. I don't know, though. There's not many other options. I still think there might be a curve-ball there. Although, maybe Jon and Daenerys could end up being King and Queen in a good old-fashioned incestuous Targaryen coupling.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones)
S03E07 – The Bear and the Maiden Fair. The pace is starting to pick up nicely. Daeny is one mean negotiator, and I have a new found respect for Jaime Lannister.
Hmm, after a bit of Interweb research I’ve solved a little annoyance. The books (which I haven’t read) use “Wildings” while the TV show refers to Mance Rayder’s folk as “Wildlings”. I’ll go with the extra “L” version from here.

- Spoiler:
- After a Previously on Game of Thrones with music reminiscent of the House theme, the Wildlings are south of the Wall. Ygritte sledges Jon about the various Houses’ habits of marching, drumming and banner carrying as they go to war. Jon confronts Orell the warg about cutting them loose on the Wall, but is warned that he won’t hold onto Ygritte.
Robb Stark’s troupe are delayed in their journey by a wayward raven, and Cat says Lord Frey will be pissed, but no more than Edmure. We then get treated to Talisa’s bare peach-shaped arse post-shag. She asks Robb if he’ll come with her to Volantis one day. He promises. Then she tells him she’s preggers. Robb is stoked.
Mance gives Jon some shagging advice. Orell makes a play for Ygritte but she says she loves Jon. The warg says she’ll be sorry when she finds out what he really is.
Post The Imp’s announcement to Sansa, she is very sad. Margaery sooths her by saying Tyrion is not the worst Lannister, and that her son may be the Lord of the North some day. Sansa is repulsed by the thought of shagging a dwarf. Margaery tells her not to fret, as she’s heard the Imp is pretty grouse in the sack.
Tyrion and Bronn chat about the same subject. Bronn can’t see the dilemma, but the Imp worries about Shae. Bronn advises “wed one, bed the other”. Bronn rocks.
Joffrey aims some snotty remarks at Grandpa Tywin, who then stands over him threateningly. Joffrey is worried about Daeny and her dragons, and that the Small Council doesn’t consult him. Tywin promises to rectify this and walks away with a smirk.
Daeny stands overlooking Yunkai. Jorah advises her to bypass the city but she wants the 200,000 slaves within its walls. She sends Grey Worm to tell them to surrender or suffer the fate of Astapor. The slave master of Yunkai gets an audience with Daeny and is shit-scared of her dragons but is unbowed. He offers ships and gold for peace. Daeny counter-offers that she will spare his and his Wise Masters lives in return for his slaves. She gets a belligerent response with threats of powerful friends seeking retribution, but when the slave master attempts to retrieve the gold, the red dragon scares the bejezus out of the slaves. He leaves muttering. Jorah is charged with finding out who the powerful friends are.
Shae is pissed and wants Tyrion to escape across the Narrow Sea. She leaves in a huff when he says no, saying she will be nothing when he tires of farking her.
Melisandre sails across Blackwater. She tells Gendry that Kings Landing is his father’s house, that he is Robert Baratheon’s bastard. She wants to use the power in his king’s blood.
Arya is shitty with the Brotherhood for letting Gendry go. She refutes the Lord of Light is the one true God, saying Death is her God. A scout brings news of a Lannister raiding party which sends the Brotherhood on a hunt. Arya sees this as more treachery (they were taking her home) and bolts. She is grabbed by the Hound!!
Before Jaime leaves, as a debt owed, he promises Brienne that he will return the Stark girls to Cat. As he leaves on horseback, Locke sledges him and says he’ll take “good care” of Brienne.
Theon’s torture continues when two babes free him and do some naked groin rubbing (MrK will appreciate the titties and fluff, as I did), which is rudely interrupted by Ramsay’s foghorn. Two goons then hold Theon down as Ramsay goes to work at cutting his cock off.
Ygritte fells a deer for dinner, impressing Jon, then they flirt in their piss-taking way (quite refreshing). She jokes that she will carry him into Winterfell when the Wildlings take the region. Jon tries to let her down gently but says she won’t win, and tells her the history of Wildling battles with the North – all failures. She is shocked but says he is one of them and kisses him. She says “every time we die, the first will live”.
Osha gets shitty with Jojen as he chats to Bran. Jojen says he’s just explaining how his and Bran’s vision power works. Osha is adamant they are going to Castle Black but Jojen says Jon is not there, and they should go further north. Osha tells them the story of how her man left and returned as a white walker and attacked her. She had to burn their hut to stop him. She says she is going no further north than Castle Black.
The maester that is tending Jaime tells him that Locke was offered gold for Brienne’s safe return but he believes (courtesy of Jaime) that Lord Tarth owns all the sapphire mines in Westeros. He thinks he’s being cheated and will kill Brienne. Jaime immediately convinces Lord Bolton’s men to return to Harrenhal. There he finds Brienne in a pit fighting a bear. Jaime jumps into the pit then the troupe leader shoots the bear with a dart, as his mission is to get Jaime to Kings Landing. Jaime and Brienne escape the pit. This time Brienne goes with Jaime to Kings Landing.
