Jeez they do a fantastic job with Hershel's peg leg. There is never any evidence of a leg tucked up behind in his scenes.
I note Hershel'sLeg has its own Twitter account.

Someone from TeamPrison is definitely going to die this season. Herschel? Merle? Probably Carol as she's been not very prominent, like T-dog.
- Spoiler:
- Herschel was supposed to die in last season's finale shoot out at the barn. But the writers had a last minute about-turn and thought they could use him some more. I'd be surprised if he survived another season finale. But you never know...
Comic spoiler (don't read if you don't want to know)

- I think the baby gets killed in a shoot out at the prison in the comics (Lori died during it as well). Too harsh for TV? Probably. But you never know...

His leg is probably the reason they killed off Michonne's limbless slaves almost immediately after introducing them - only enough CGI budget to digitally remove one body part.
Mostly he's shot from the knee or waist up, so it's not an issue. I doubt his leg is tucked up anywhere: he'll just be wearing a blue or green stocking and that'll be blue (or green) screened out in post production.

Re: The Walking Dead
S03E14 – Prey. A Woodbury Guv-chases-Andrea ep. One short Rick scene and that’s it.
- Spoiler:
- Flashback to before Michonne and Andrea came to Woodbury, them sitting around a campfire with the armless zombie twins growling on their chains. Back to now, we see the Guv preparing some chains at Woodbury.
Milton finds the Guv’s militia preparing to head out. He tells Andrea it’s just a show of force. The Guv appears to be getting ready to operate on someone, probably Michonne. Milton confronts him about his obsession with revenge on her. Milton tells Andrea and reckons he wants to kill the Prison team and shows her the operating room through some vents above. He recommends she tell the Prison team to run. Andrea believes she has no choice but to kill the Guv. He comes into the room and she draws her pistol but Milton stops her. He correctly tells her that killing the Guv won’t save her friends.
Andrea has her gun taken and the Guv asks her to go with them to meet Rick. Andrea has had enough and runs from Woodbury. Martinez is pissed that Tyreese let her go, but the Guv says it’s fine and tries to say Andrea has problems. The Guv heads out after her. Meanwhile at the gate, Allen and Tyreese have a showdown about some past issues.
Martinez and crew head out after Andrea. She gets off the roads and hides in the trees, which of course is a perfect chance for her to be swarmed by walkers. Luckily, the walkers are as lame as ever, end she fights them off easily. The Martinez crew arrive at a walker pit, and are gonna let them loose on the Prison team. Tyreese ain’t happy and says so and Allen gets in his face. Tyreese promptly hangs him over the zombie pit but stops short of dropping him in.
The Guv is out looking and sees Andrea in a field and heads after her. She dodges him in some woods. He comes across some abandoned buildings. The Guv stalks her, breaking windows to scare her. He is distracted by some walkers, but he finally corners her, but she opens a door to a stairwell crawling with walkers, who swarm over the Guv, allowing her to escape, as the hoard appears to be overwhelming the Guv.
Someone torches the walker pit and the loaded truck of walkers. Andrea finally gets within sight of the prison. But the Guv comes from nowhere and grabs her. At Woodbury, the Guv lies to Tyreese and crew that he didn’t find Andrea, and that the biter pits are just for show. He drops a line about gasoline but Tyreese is ignorant, so maybe it was Milton (which the Guv seems to think) who torched the biters.
Ep ends with Andrea tied down in the Guv’s operating chair.

I tell you what, Tyreese hasn't been going hungry in the zombie apocalypse. While everyone else has been living off scraps and dog food, he's been having six meals a day and finding time to do some bench press.
Bit of a silly episode - when did the Governor become the Terminator?

Re: The Walking Dead
S03E15 – This Sorrowful Life. Plenty of walker action and a surprise twist.
- Spoiler:
- Rick, Hershel and Daryl talk over trading Michonne. Daryl says “it ain’t us, man” and Hershel agrees. Rick finds Merle hacking up mattresses looking for dope, without luck. Merle warns that the Guv will torture but not kill Michonne, but agrees to help trade her, but isn’t sure Rick will go through with it, and tells Daryl as much.
Daryl tries to get Merle to mellow and apologise to Glenn, but he points out he only did what they are now planning to do, deliver someone to the Guv. Daryl says he just wants his brother back.
As Rick looks for some wire to bind Michonne, he struggles with the morality of the task, and “sees” Lori watching him judgmentally. Hershel fronts him to talk him down, but he has already caved and says “I can’t, I won’t”. Hershel looks delightedly shocked.
Downstairs, Merle and Michonne are checking tunnels for walkers. They come across some and start taking them out. Merle KOs Michonne and binds her. Next we see Merle leading a now conscious Michonne down the road to Woodbury, telling her Rick’s plan. Merle says he would’ve blinked.
Back at the prison, Rick tells Daryl it’s off but worries that he can’t find Merle or Michonne. Rick wants to chase but Daryl says he can track them better and will do it alone.
Glenn tells Hershel he wants to marry Maggie, and Hershel give his blessing.
At an abandoned motel, Merle ties Michonne to a post while he hot-wires a car, but sets off its alarm in getting it started. This attracts a hoard of walkers. Merle can’t hear Michonne’s screams over the alarm as he is still under the dash. He realises just in time to fight off a zombie reaching in for him. He cuts Michonne’s post tie and they escape in the car.
Glenn snaps a zombie finger off to get a ring for Maggie. In the car, Michonne tries to calmly talk Merle into going back, He says he can’t, then simply cuts her ties, lets her out and gives her the sword, saying “go back and get ready for what’s next, I gotta do something on my own”. Daryl finds her and tells her not to let anyone come after him.
Merle is outside a tavern swigging whiskey, with the radio blaring. Walkers surround his car. He slowly off drives, with the walkers shuffling behind. At a Woodbury outpost, he rolls out of the car and the zombies follow it. The Woodbury militia wonder what the loud music is. Martinez and his team begin to gun down the hoard, while Merle picks off the Woodbury guys from inside a building. Martinez realises there’s a sniper, and Merle gets attacked by a walker, rolling outside as he fights him off. Martinez and the boys start to wail on him before the Guv grabs him by the throat and yells “you leave him to me”. As they struggle, the Guv bites off two of Merle’s fingers. Then the Guv shoots him. RIP Merle. Looks like he was attempting to cripple Woodbury defences and go back to prison a hero.
Glenn walks over to Maggie in the yard, puts the ring in her hand, and she says “yes”. Rick tells the team of his original plans and how he couldn’t do it, but that Merle took Michonne and Daryl followed, and he doesn’t know if it’s too late. He apologises to the team. He says the team is the greater good. All future decisions will be voted on. He walks off to a guard post and sees Michonne approaching. He sighs.
Daryl has reached the Woodbury outpost. He finds walker Merle chowing down on a body. Daryl cries at the loss of his brother, then angrily stabs him in the head until it’s mush.

Re: The Walking Dead
I don't understand they don't just run. The prison gang is just Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Peg leg, grandma, the singer, Carl, the newborn and Scott and Charlene.
Nine fighters at best. Six and a half if you're being realistic (not sure we've seen Carol or Beth do much other than whimper, Hershall's f*cked if he ever has to move and fight at the same time). They've got no chance against the Woodbury massive.
Hit the road. There was a nice looking motel nearby. A few walkers around, but hey - their heads totally explode when you step on them, so they shouldn't be too difficult to dispense with.

- Shame about Merle. If he'd been smart he could've brought Rick and company in on his plan to take out the Governor and his crew in a zombie ambush at the rendezvous. Seemed like a good plan, generally.
Re: The Walking Dead
I thought the same thing about running last night, that the Prison v Woodbury thing is already starting to get tired. But until they are close to exhausting their food supply, why would they run? Shirley the prison is as safe a place as they can find, even with the mad Guv on the nearby horizon?

Season Finale?? Shit, that snuck up on me. Didn't think it underwhelming at all, Nath. Crackerjack ep.
S03E16 – Welcome to the Tombs. Cracking.
S03E16 – Welcome to the Tombs. Cracking.
- Spoiler:
- Ep opens with the Guv beating the bejezus out of Milton over the Merle ambush. The Guv demands that Milton kills the strapped down Andrea, but he lunges at the Guv instead. The Guv guts him and leaves him to die and turn.
The team seem to be moving out but Glenn and Maggie stay. Michonne understands Rick’s recent motives and thanks him for not trading her. He says it was Carl’s call.
At Woodbury Tyreese and Sasha say they can’t be part of killing other people and offer to defend the town in the Guv and militia’s absence as they are about to attack the Prison. The Guv is actually grateful. The Woodbury crew attack the prison but are able to get into it without resistance. They are suspicious. In the tombs below, a flashbang grenade goes off and a hoard of walkers appears. The Guv’s army freaks and runs, and as they retreat, bunkered down Glenn and Maggie fire off many rounds at the scarpering Woodburyites. Just up the road, Hershel, Beth and Carl watch on. The Woodbury attack is a failure and they flee. Glenn and Maggie are elated.
Up the road, one of the Woodbury crew has become separated and left behind. Hershel and Carl have him covered. He lays down his arms but Carl still shoots him. Hershel is shocked, and tells Rick of the incident.
Back at Woodbury Milton is clinging on to life. He tells the strapped down Andrea that he dropped some pliers at the base of her chair and she needs to get them before he turns. She struggles to collect them but finally manages to pick them up with her feet. Milton finally dies and turns. Andrea is able to cut one tie but struggles with the other. We hear lots of growling and screaming from the room.
The fleeing Woodbury crew stops up the road to take stock. There is division in the ranks about the mission. Most believe killing healthy humans is wrong, while a few continue to want the Guv’s revenge. The division causes the Guv to go feral, and he guns down most of the crew. Martinez is shocked.
Rick confronts Carl about the shooting and Carl is defiant. He said he did what his father should have done with Andrew and the Guv. Little Carl is now a cold-blooded warrior. Rick, Daryl and Michonne heads out in pursuit of the Woodburyites. They come across a Woodbury vehicle and a walker chowdown. Daryl and Michonne dispatch the walkers but there is a surviving human, Karen (she lay under dead bodies after the Guv’s meltdown).
They go to Woodbury, and the Guv and militia have not returned. Karen shows herself and Tyreese and Sasha let them in. Rick and the team find Andrea. She has been bitten by turned Milton who Andrea has killed. She says she will end it. Rick gives her a gun and a tearful Michonne stays with her as she offs herself.
The team regroups at the prison and have brought many Woodbury folk with them via a bus. Carl is not happy. Carol and Hershel are delighted. Rick can no longer see visions of Lori. He’s done good.

Re: The Walking Dead
I'm with Nath - it was a bit unsatisfying.
- Spoiler:
- The inevitable prison showdown that they've been building up to all season was pretty limp, like they didn't have the budget for a proper action extravaganza. The preview had exploding gun towers and implied carnage, but it was a bit of a red herring as the explosions were somewhat pointless and the carnage never really took place. Did anyone even die at the prison? Even one person?
And then the Governor gunning down all his soldiers - it was all a bit neat and convenient in suddenly putting an end to the season-long threat of the prison gang being hunted by a much larger, more tooled up army. Their leader went mad and killed all his men. Of course.
And I don't really understand why Rick would adopt half of Woodbury - the weak and un-fighty half - and bring them over to the prison, when resources are so thin; or why they'd even want to exchange Woodbury for the tombs. Presumably Governor loyalists are dwindling in numbers (most are dead) and there's no guarantee he'd be welcomed back should he ever return, so why leave a relatively safe environment rather than stand up and oppose a weakened regime that appears to consist now of only about three guys?
In fact, if they wanted, the prison gang could take Woodbury as their own, you would think.
Ah well. Was a decent episode - and a good end to a very decent season. Milton met his predictable demise, and Andrea got her comeuppance for always sleeping with psychopaths. Shame, but it probably had to end up like that. Glen had already escaped an almost identical scenario (tied up in a room with a walker) earlier in the season, so Andrea had to die just to keep up the sense of jeopardy on the show.
It was for the best anyway - given her insatiable appetite for murderous, callous arseholes, she'd have been getting nailed by Carl next season. And that would've been weird.

Re: The Walking Dead
- Spoiler:
- Or if she'd have been able to control her love for danger cock.
FYI, Andrea's death was reshot late in the day. The original scene had Milton shot dead (no reminiscing about the good times between him and Andrea) and just flat out devour her in his zombie state while she was chained to the chair.
I guess the powers that be didn't think that was a noble enough demise for Andrea.
I still don't know how she managed to get out of handcuffs with a pair of pliers - or kill Milton with them.
Anyway, here's an end of term picture of the gang, complete with Hershall's green-screen-able leg. Does this mean Karen's about to become a major character next season...?
