Re: The Walking Dead
Cheers BD. I had no idea Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) was a Pom (of Yarp heritage apparently*). I knew the Guv was a Pom. Seemingly the southern US accent is easy to do.
They can do anything they like, as long as they don't kill off Daryl.

Re: The Walking Dead
Cheers BD. They were a bit light on killing walkers in S3. Seems they intend to make up for it in S4.

Re: The Walking Dead
The most poorly built roof in the history of the world. What was it made out of, cardboard?
Re: The Walking Dead
Just about to fire it up right now. Watched Homeland instead last night.

Re: The Walking Dead
S04E01 - 30 Days without an accident. Started slow but sped up quick.
- Spoiler:
- Two stories.
The 1st - the large bunch going to town and having to fight off walkers who fell through the mall roof (paper mache roof was lame as fark, but the zombie hanging by his guts was funny, as were those that splattered). Shame Zach got munched. His banter with Daryl (who continues to rule the show) was great, and he was the fast-growing-up Beth's love interest.
The 2nd - in the woods Rick is confronted by what looked like a talking Irish zombie, but she wasn't. All she wanted was Rick as food for her zombie partner. She stabbed herself but begged Rick not to blow her brains out so she could be a zombie lover to her partner. Weird.
The cliffhanger was Patrick coughing and collapsing with bleeding eyes, then waking again, presumably as a walker. Did Violet the pig make him sick?
It was good to see Michonne smile, the jail community seemed more homely and relaxed, Daryl and Carol's relationship is cool as ever, it may take some getting used to all the Woodbury newbs, and Hershel has graduated from green screen amputee, to green screen prosthesis.

Re: The Walking Dead
S04E02 – Infected. Pretty good.
- Spoiler:
- Turns out Patrick died from a virulent flu. As a walker he creates mayhem in the compound. Rick gets some of his mojo back in helping Daryl to kill all the bitten community members.
Carol has to kill a father who was bitten, but promises to look after his 2 daughters. He offered the girls the chance to kill their father before he turns, but they can’t. Carol has been teaching the kids knife skills, something she’d rather Carl not tell Rick.
The team agree that they need to separate those who may have been exposed to Patrick’s flu over into cell block A. Carol is concerned that Tyreese’s new squeeze Karen may have the flu, as she has a nasty cough.
An injured Michonne (who was tackled by a couple of walkers after being a bit blasé with them at the front gate) regains some of her humanity when, after initially not wanting anything to do with Judith, holds the baby for Beth. She breaks down in motherly tears, perhaps finally letting out the emotions of losing her boyfriend and brother (her armless, chained zombies from S2).
The walkers, who seem to be getting smarter, get close to pushing a section of the fence over. Rick (with Daryl’s help) sacrifices the remaining pigs (who were probably flu-infected anyway) to attract the zombies away from the fence. The team notices a bunch of dead, chewed rats. Someone on the inside has been feeding the walkers rats.
Rick seems to finally be returning to normal. After burning the pig pen and OKing Carol’s knife skills teaching with Carl, he gives his boy his gun back, and straps on his own gun belt. I was getting a bit sick of mopey, weird Rick, so hopefully he’s back to his zombie-killing best from here on.
Ep ends with Tyreese taking a bunch of flowers to Karen but finding blood smears leading out of her cell. He follows the smears outside and finds her (and another) burnt body. Who’s the inside maverick?

Re: The Walking Dead
If the inside man turns out to be...
- Spoiler:
- the Governor, everyone involved with the show can f*ck off.
Once again, anywhere where Rick and his crew are situated is the most dangerous place in all of Georgia, even inside a prison, protected by two fences and bricks and mortar.
Rick's buddy Morgan was perfectly safe all on his lonesome, with an entire town of walkers on his doorstep. All right, he was a bit mental, but at least he wasn't incompetent.
Bet all those folks who left the sanctuary of Woodbury are thrilled to be at the prison - they'll all be killed off before the halfway mark of the season.
I've grown to accept Carl and - as long as she's not singing - Beth. But I've no more tolerance for new little kiddies. Those two annoying girls better get eaten up soon, if only for their hammy acting.
Re: The Walking Dead
Also, the...
- Spoiler:
- ... "mysterious person luring the walkers into the prison" thing is a recycled plot from last season's episode Killer Within. I mean, come on.
Re: The Walking Dead
At least Rick has stopped being a farming hippy - you've got to be OK with that?
Re: The Walking Dead
I was only tuning in for the farming. Where the f*ck did they get those pigs from anyway?
Re: The Walking Dead
Well they've had nearly six months break from the last series. They must have done something to pass the time.Dello wrote:I was only tuning in for the farming. Where the f*ck did they get those pigs from anyway?

Re: The Walking Dead
S04E03 – Isolation. OK. Slow between the action.
- Spoiler:
- Tyreese gets all fighty over Karen’s burnt body, but gets it back in spades after biffing Rick, who wigs out & kicks & punches the bejezus out of him.
The flu epidemic is spreading through the jail. Sasha is toast as is Dr. Subramanian. Glen has begun to get the sweats too. Hershel says it’s time to raid a 50 mile away vet clinic, with animal dope largely the same as human.
Rick tries to make peace with Tyreese, but he wants justice for Karen. Glen & the other coughing pre-zombies get quarantined, including Carol’s new kids. Maggie agonises to Beth about Glen being crook, but little sister says suck it up – no sooking allowed.
Hershel hits on an idea to brew some elderberry tea, a natural flu remedy, so heads out to a crop in the words. Carl insists on escorting him. Hershel’s crop seems to be near Crazy Irish zombie chick’s tent from ep 1. Carl wants to pop her shuffling arse, but Hershel says there’s no need & they wander back to the jail.
On the other side of a glass wall, Tyreese tries to keep sick Sasha’s hopes up but she’s crook as.
Daryl, Michonne & Bob head out to get horse antibiotics in the hope that they’ll slow the epidemic & cure the stronger folk. Tyreese joins them after vowing to help Sasha.
Maggie & Rick gets uppity with Hershel but he says he is going to try to help the sick folk with his tea brew. They back off.
Rick investigates the body dragging & burning scene. I think he reckons Carol did it.
Carol rigs up a distraction for the walkers so she can go out & de-mud the water suction line. But they notice her at the bridge & shuffle on over. Rick has to come to her rescue.
The Daryl-Michonne team on their way to the vet clinic pick up a voice on the car radio but then run into a million walkers. Daryl backs up but bogs on zombie heads & guts, trapping them. They make a run for the woods. Tyreese wallows in pity & delays his run, then hacks away in a frenzy at the hoard. But he seems to be swamped as Daryl, Michonne & Bob scarper through the trees. But big-T stumbles out of bushes not far behind.
Dr. Subra coughs blood all over Hershel, so he takes off his mask & wipes his face. Hershel is now putting his faith in Daryl to get the horse drugs.
Rick fronts Carol about the fact that she’d do anything for the group. He asks if she killed and burned David & Karen. She blandly says “yes” & keeps working!!

He was motivated.
- Spoiler:
- At least the fact that Carol was the dragger and burner and NOT the Guv will keep Dello in the game.
