Here's a view, FWIW:

Whoever's right, and whatever record needs setting straight, life's a bit too short for snapping and snipping and sniping on forums.

You don't have to like or get on with everyone or everything. Everyone reaches their own conclusions, I suppose.

But surely it's a bit of a waste of bullets to snipe for "fun".

When it gets small-minded, just eschew.

For what it's worth, that's just a view.

And that'll probably have to do.

Mate, I was in the process of adding to my post with the "next morning" line. I didn't add it after your post. Have a look at the edit time and your post time. They overlapped. Apologies if you think I was being deliberately twee or smartarse-ish.

I've just finished watching another ep of TWD and come back to another hammering. I have wound you up with no attempt to do so.

Look, I'm aiming for a clean slate here. I won't allow myself to be baited by the English-born one, I won't have a shot at anyone except my Pinko buddies. I'll stick to my cricket threads, TWD threads etc. I have no wish to upset you or anyone else. You will always be able to out-abuse me - I am well-and-truly aware of that. But I do love this forum, and as you know, have done all I can to keep it floating.

Take a breath and let's start over, ay.

Skully, I'm not wound up. And I haven't given you a hammering. I don't agree with these two points. You haven't upset me and I'm not trying to out-abuse you. I gave you the reason why I wrote the post you quoted. That's all. There's no need for any clean slate or starting over.

Cheers Dan.

Is this where I suggest a Glossary addition of "melt down" - something forummers think skully regularly has? Very Happy

You have wrongly assumed any drunkedness. Demmy and I have always been good mates, so I thought your response to her Q was a little over the top, and rather out of the blue. I'm interested that there's never any questioning of the other protagonist's post content. Is that an English brotherhood thing?

Is this aimed at me or Vilks?
I'd hope it wasn't me, me and skulls sometimes go a bit far but I've always assumed there were no real grudges either way.

I would have thought the same goes between you and him so I'd like to know who it is.

Care to name names, skulls?

Glossary Update 2012 - Page 10 Empty Re: Glossary Update 2012

Post by skully Sat 14 Jul 2012, 13:46

OK, to clear up any misunderstandings.

I am always here around the time taipan logs on each morning in Saffietown. It was generally genial but in the past month the pattern had become taips baits skulls, skulls bites and on it goes until eventually taips says "lighten up man, it was just a joke". Feel free to correct if you think that's harsh, Nige.

This went on for about 4 weeks, until I tired of it so put Nige on Ignore. But I foolishly still looked at the odd barb.

I then chucked a few childish "tampon" barbs at Nige, which has really been the basis of the past 24 hours shenanigans.

Nothing to do with vilks at all. As he says, he and I have had one or two minor skirmishes but mostly have a chuckle. I let Nige get under my skin, and am happy to admit it. As I said, he has a number of notches on his belt so fair play to him.

Dan has waded in with an answer to Dem's question about "what has happened between taips and skully?", that I felt was blunt and inaccurate, and I said so tonight.

The rest of this thread rolled out of me questioning Dan's harsh judgment.

Moral of the story - if you tire of baiting, stick to Ignore and don't be tempted to look at whatever clever bait is thrown in. taips got me good. Well played him.

All-in-all another Forum Gold moment I guess.

PS: I'm not wrong that Nige is an English-born Saffie, am I? This was the basis of my "English brotherhood" Q to Dan. All along I have had the strong word that Nigel is an Englishman who emigrated to Jo'burg and now is proudly Saffer.

Skulls the trouble is you got too pompous and I hate pomposity so I decided to tease you a bit. You took it too seriously and got over excited. Believe me, at no stage did I come close to losing it

No hard feelings from me, but FFS lighten up a bit.

Clearly in need of an update. Also skully's fault.
