The Vomit batsmen knocked up 379 and 348 in their last two Jamodd games and we restricted them to 185
Well, at least Midge J went for under 3 1/2.
And Midge M got a half.
Reasons to be cheerful.

No chance of any play in the shield game today. They've just issued a Tornado warning for southern Tas FFS!!

from CA website
"Rain is still falling, looks like it is seriously set in here, no sign of the hail storms that have lashed the greater Hobart area, but dim, damp and dark"
dim, dark and damp sort of sums up the Toxics nowadays

Excellent. A rained out Shield game. No points for either side.

Got sent home early from work in case the neck that links the peninsular i live on got flooded. Probably helped that my boss lives down my way as well. .
No sign of flooding yet BTW although storms are forcast for later tonight.

the only way the spivs can stay within cooee of the top of the table...you shd be hoping that all jellies v worriers matches are rained off to help keep your team off the bottom.

Forcast for the next couple of days is not bad strangely enough. Should get enough play for 1st innings points at least.

The ball was jagging around like a jagging thing ... hopefully will continue into the afternoon, though it is quite warm today after yesterday's mini-tornados, and most of the steam may have risen from the wicket before tea
No-one could stick it out for the session.

Definately a case of win the toss, win the game at Bellerive. The new drop in wickets plus the unseasonable weather are making a joke of any real competition.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2012/13 (II)
Conditions must have eased a lot.
I am coming right out of the closet and identifying myself as an Uzi Lover.
Usman Khawaja - Sticky Dog Bully.
So ner.

18 wickets & 414 runs in one day is definately not your normal Bellerive wicket.

Happy Khwaja is batting well. At least there's a plan B (C?) now for the summer when it comes to batting.

All over at Bellerive. Another cringeworthy performance by Tas.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2012/13 (II)
Some are saying Khawaja's knock was one of the finest Shield innings's they've seen.

Probably the same people that said scoring a couple of shield fifties was good enough for a test recall.

I've never said i hate him. That is something you said. I just don't rate him as a test player.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2012/13 (II)
Ok fair enough. I think he's typical of 99% of the young batsmen in Shield cricket these days- Good off the back foot, but has no idea where their off stump is and a good nicker.
Still, I think he's one of the best of a moderate bunch.

Very pleased to see Cam Gannon take a "Six fer". He should have a long & successful Shield career. Tall, very accurate, gets a bit of movement & plenty of bounce.

So in other words, you don't rate him as a test prospect?

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2012/13 (II)
Regarding Usman Khawaja - When he played test cricket, he seemed to me to be lacking a bit of confidence. This often happens to players from NSW. They don't know if they have made the team because they deserve to or because they are dubbers. So if he gets back in, I believe we will see a more confident cricketer who knows he has been selected on merit.
