Draft
I'm not running this. It'll be run by the participants themselves.
Basically you draft a team out of anyone who has played cricket before. It's quite simple. Then we discuss and vote on whose teams we believe to be best.

Re: Draft
You could make zillions of useful and worthy nominations and combinations.
Off the top of my head:
1. Jack Hobbs
2. Herbert Sutcliffe
3. Brian Lara
4. Don Bradman
5. Walter Hammond
6. Garfield Sobers
7. Alan Knott
8. Shane Warne
9. Malcolm Marshall
10. Curtly Ambrose
11. Ted McDonald
12. Colin Bland (narrowly pipping Jonty, AB, Randall and Clive Hubert God)
Non-playing captain: Mike Brearley
Lara at 3 instead of Tendy or Punter because he adds a bit of flamboyance (also left-handed in a mainly RHB top order). Hammond at 5 because he could also bowl a bit (and was often underbowled) and was a genius despite the syphilis and depressive tendency and all that.
The combination of the last three would kill most sides stone dead, but if not, Warne could get the team out of a hole (as he often did Oz), Garry could seam or spin his left-handers either way. Hammond is the medium-pace option for those sorts of conditions.

Re: Draft
You no comprehendo.
We do it as a draft; ie everyone gets a turn to make one pick, then everyone gets a turn for a 2nd pick, etc.
Eg for football:
Person A: Ronaldo
B: Messi
C: Iniesta
C: van Persie
B: Rooney
A: Pique
etc.
At the end we look at the teams players a-c have.

Re: Draft
Yes there is cricket relevance...
You would do the same thing, but with cricket. I didn't want to do an example with cricketers because that would possibly give away picks.

Re: Draft
DGB isn't pickable, purely because it makes picking first a heavy advantage. Everyone else is fair-game.

We haven't started yet, first people need to sign up, then I make an order in which we pick.

Re: Draft
So, when's it kick off? There'll have to be a cut off point... there's bound to be a few who'll want to join, just depends when they turn up.
