Re: CaLLING GROWLS
Seen it buddy - I have a couple more scenarios in mind, I just need to find an interesting match/almanack report to work the pitch/weather conditions & forecast from. I was going to post one at the weekend - the first one has generated some interest and chat. Liked your spoof match report BTW ...... captured the reporting style of the time wonderfully.
If you have another test ready, by all means go for it, I'll still put one of mine up later. I certainly won't feel slighted - or consider it a hostile take-over, so to speak.
Forgive me if I'm "teaching granny" - but I'd be minded to copy/paste tthe teams as the first post for ease of comparison. Please replace C Hill with GA Faulkner for taips, that was an inexplicable error on my part. Pitch, weather and any other relevant info, and orft we go .......

Re: CaLLING GROWLS
Okay, I'll fire it up.
Premature firing-up, Paul K thinks (see First Test thread). But I've answered that there.
Whoever wants, can say summat; wheeraz them what wants t' hold theer lungs an tungs an keep theer wiser counsels till later, or never, will bluddy well do that anyway, like.
btw: The style of that spoof report was meant to be a bit closer to "Mr. Cholmondley-Warner and Grayson" than actually 1912!
The "serious" bit (maybe missed by JGK in his haste to write me off as a mindblown fantasist ) was to get the thread/match/discussion moving in some way, and to inject some sort of entertainment, however facetious or crass.
I also meant to point up some "clashes of eras" (how would Trumper actually cope against post-Bodyline, and Haydos against highly crafty bowling..?), and weave in a few echoes of actual incidents (the famous 1999 WC runout, most obviously).
