Re: myth of shane watson
struck me as a fair assessment..
ultimately schoolgirl needs to return to the Shield to show that he is up to 1st class cricket

Re: myth of shane watson
He'll be 32 in June and he has a brittle body. His value to Australia is in the shorter formats. Do Australia want to have an unsettled test side because they try and accommodate an enigmatic and physically brittle all rounder who has never quite cracked test cricket? Or do they want to potentially win the next World Cup on the back of some Watson heroics?

It worked in spates of brilliance - personally, I don't think Watson has that in him - not from a bowling perspective. We carried his shit batting and broken body.
Re: myth of shane watson
I agree that Watson's bowling isn't worth the risk. It never has been, IMO.
His batting, when he's uninjured, could be.
IMO the myth is that he was ever an all-rounder.

Yeah, as I've stated elsewhere, I'd have him over the bash twins. I remain unconvinced on Hughes. Warner is capable of brilliance, but he's much more miss-miss-miss-hit-miss than he should be. Watson on song is very consistent and he's about to play his two favourite sides.
