Re: Origin of ID's
Captin/Roy/Mr Cricket was the genuine article - no-one could have pretended to have been such a fool for so long and not gone totally nutty in the process.

pieman: I like pie
lardbucket: couldn't register pieman when I joined C4 and chose it at random.
roland 0.8: had my head bitten off and was a headless Thomson gunner for a while; the 0.8 being what was left and in line with other prevailing ID's eg Butters 2.0 and VoR 2.0
wide willy: a flight of filthy fancy, and a salute to Wally
jadeja vu: I thought there were too many chiefs and not enough Indians; and of course I'd been there before
'schmalzeimer': German for lardbucket, and maybe a little demented
a mouse called Gerald (a very very well shared ID): ask Zat
a mouse called Gerard: Gerald died. Was Jerry really Gerald, or Gerard? Who knows.

Re: Origin of ID's
It's the name of a song on one of my favourite albums. Actually my favourite song on this album is called 'Northern Lad', but I thought that might be a bit confusing as an ID since I am neither.
