Poor Moeen. The latest in a long line of Trevees, this time with added desperation.

Although I wonder why Root has been so under-bowled by Cook in this series? He certainly has the ability to bowl 10 useful overs a day in test cricket.

How could he bowl Root when he has a specialist left arm spinner?

Kerrigan’s back, he’s signed for the mighty NorthPants...

Might be the making of the lad.
Seriously though, I wish him well.
Few cricketers have fallen into quite so deep a hole, under such glare of publicity.

Re: Woakes and Kerrigan- Should England's selectors be sacked?
It seemed a slow deflation of his career at county level, rather than an instant implosion like some spinners who have had the “yips”. He hung around the England setup for another year or so without actually getting selected to play, then just appeared to drift out of contention...

Agreed. It wasn't a 'Johnny Watkins' scenario.

Re: Woakes and Kerrigan- Should England's selectors be sacked?
Not sure Kerrigan exists to demonstrate how crap he is.
Time will tell whether he has enough to him to become (again, a few years later) a decent county pro.
He's 31. If he gets his nerves back aka his game together, he might yet earn his corn at Div2 level. Northants may be as desperate as Durham (exodus land) to give people a chance whose time appears to have been and gone. But presumably they have some hope he might (literally) pay off.
Fair article. (What the hell is a "cricket badger"? I suppose I can guess.)

Strangely enough I’ve just seen “cricket badger” used in another article, referring to Ollie Robinson...

Yeah, TAYne POCson. But who was this “Smith” to whom I was also referring? He was obviously just as rubbish, and long since forgotten, anyway.beamer wrote:...and we may have just hindered their prospects by cementing Watson and Smith's places in the side for the foreseeable future.

Woakes has over 100 Test wickets @ under 30. And a few useful runs. One out of two ain’t bad, as Meat Loaf didn’t quite say...embee wrote:That should guarantee them both long and successful careers
