Well played, lads. Wanted it a f*ck ton more than England.
Was pretty funny watching them all tear up at the end, though. AB wouldn't have stood for it.

Re: Welcome Home
yip yip yippee....glad S heard from zoggy and lardy...like the Elgin Marbles needing to be returned to Greece...in the true order of things, so too does the urn require repatriation to its appropriate home

Tin pot trophy. We've still got the Wisden Trophy, the Ban India Shield and the Snooze Bowl in our grasp.

Re: Welcome Home
With the next Ashes only 18 months away could we hold them for a record short time?

Re: Welcome Home
I was wondering when the next Ashes were. Lordy, they've backed 3 series closely together. Maybe we might still have the remnants of this Ashes regaining side left (+ the confidence that goes with that achievement) and give 'em a contest*.

Should do. Only Rogers, Harris and Haddin are likely non-tourists - and even then it wouldn't be a surprise if they were still around (perhaps not Rogers, unless he starts scoring some biggies).
England won't know whether to stick or twist. They've got 14 Tests until the next Ashes series starts (including the two dead rubbers coming up), so do they bring in some new blood and hope that's long enough for them to bed down or just hang tight with the established players for one last crack at it?
Bit of both, I'd think. There won't be a revolution. One or two changes.
Re: Welcome Home
There's only been two close Ashes series in the last quarter of a century, 2005 and 2009 - the odds aren't in favour of it!

You watched Australia celebrating? Were'nt you one of the people who couldn't watch the end of the Trent Bridge test match because it was all a bit too stressful, yet you can happily sit there and watch Australia celebrating?Dello wrote:Well played, lads. Wanted it a f*ck ton more than England.

Well done Aussie - we were outbowled, outfielded, outbatted, outcoached and outcaptained - and I daresay our physio was shite too. Enjoy it while you can.

St. Therese of Lisieux.
Which bowlers is she going to send us? And whose planning skills?

If Quntorarse was "any good" , Mitchell Starc would have been sent for surgery on his ankle about 6 months earlier and would have been our left arm "weapon" in the Ashes while Mitchell Johnson would have been terrorising batsmen in the Shield ...

You're assuming that we're going the same way as Oz post 2006/07. Hopefully Flower will still be coach. As for quick bowlers - pick any three from Broad, Finn, Overton, Mills, Willey and Stokes. Anderson is not beyond hope either.
As for spinners , assuming Swanny is retired, then it's Monty by a country mile.
