Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
Pity Dools missed out. He needed a score to keep his name in front of the selectors. 50 up for Cossie with Dunk on 35.
Tas 2/92.
Not sure if Tas are serious about winning this game. They selected Webster again to give him some more experience. He failed in both innings on debut but they obviously think he is worth another go now that we are out of the running.

Vic innings still not over at stumps - 8-197. Good 4th wkt stand by Braze Jr and Hanscombe, and a handy 50 by Hastings (remember him?), which would have been even handier if he'd not been dismissed off the last ball of the day.

Ton up for Cossie (runs that is...not his weight). Slam on 70 n.o.
Tas 2/184

Useless Dubbers are pissing this away - 9 down with only a 100 run lead.

First innings points to Tas which, unless the Banjo's do something silly, should guarantee the wooden spoon to Victoria.

Tas 8/507 at stumps. Gulbis 156 n.o. & Hilfy out (bowled Ferguson FFS) off the last ball for a quick 30. Tas should press on tomorrow for a lead of something over 300 & give themselves about five sessions to bowl SA out or bat again if required.

In fact, it seems Gulbis has set a new Shield record for the highest score by a No. 8.

Gulbis still not finished ... probably hopes to push on to 200 tomorrow, before a declaration.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
So the Sandies lost 4-8 last night!! Was talking to Woody as they were 1-101 and looking to wipe the deficit and build a big lead.
As things stand (based on 1st innings points), the table is:
NSW---28
WA-----26
SA------26
Qld-----24
Tas-----18
Vic------10
Banjos looking to build a monster 1st innings lead v Viles to set up an outright, which would take them to the Final. WA need to beat NSW outright now to make the decider, in place of Spivs. An outright to the Dubbers gives them hosting rights.

If Billies win outright and Dubbers get no more points, who finishes ahead?

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
Banjos have a better quotient - something like 1.2 to 1.05. So an outright to Billies and no other points means a Qld-NSW Final at Gabba. Only a WA outright can open the door to the Spivs not making the Final. A rare occasion when I will be barracking for a good last innings batting display by Vomits for a draw.
A WA outright and a Qld v Vic draw would mean a WA v NSW Final at WACA.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
So (assuming SA can't possibly get points v Tas):
Spiv outright + Banjo outright = NSW v Qld Final at Manuka
Spiv outright + Banjo draw = NSW v WA Final at Manuka
Spiv draw + Banjo outright = Qld v NSW Final at Gabba
Spiv draw + Banjo draw = NSW v WA Final at Manuka
WA outright + Banjo outright = WA v Qld Final at WACA
WA outright + Banjo draw = WA v NSW Final at WACA
Spiv outright + Banjo outright = NSW v Qld Final at Manuka
Spiv outright + Banjo draw = NSW v WA Final at Manuka
Spiv draw + Banjo outright = Qld v NSW Final at Gabba
Spiv draw + Banjo draw = NSW v WA Final at Manuka
WA outright + Banjo outright = WA v Qld Final at WACA
WA outright + Banjo draw = WA v NSW Final at WACA

Stoopid cheating umps:
Over 81.2: Bollinger to Whiteman, no run, APPEAL, good length pushes forward defending, the team go up as one for caught behind, Umpire Abood is unmoved! |
Over 81.1: Bollinger to Whiteman, no run, APPEAL, good length, plays forward, struck on the back pad, not out LBW |

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
Tas 9/651 with Gulbis 229 n.o. Even the tail are getting into the act. Hilfy 30, Doh 43, & Tweet has cracked five fours to be 25 n.o. I guess you can say the wicket has flattened out since day one.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2013/14 (II)
aye..if naif and x are getting runs it is pancake...nice to see Hilfy making runs and having fun...BD do you think Hilfy may hang the boots up after this season?

Don't see why he should. Probably won't get his CA contract renewed but he is still getting wickets in domestic games.
