Seems some current & former international cricketers including Stephen Fleming,Brendan McCullum,Michael Hussey, George Bailey & Andy Bichel are trying to raise capital to start an online cricket portal called CricHQ with the aim of taking on CricInfo. According to the Fin Review they need startup capital of around $6 Mil.
Anyone got some spare cash?

To take on a giant like ESPN and a billion Indians who love Cricinfo I somehow doubt $6M will do the job.

Ironically, if anyone is going to succeed it is probably a group of high profile players because they can control the content a bit more by just not giving interviews/ comments etc to Cricinfo.

The best way to succeed would be to pay Sachin $10m (or maybe more I guess).

Yeah but they probably all want a gig eventually somewhere that cricinfo influences.
