SOK on target to emulate Krazy if he gets another game.

Only 438 to win ... in 113 overs.
Hopefully they have left the declaration too late.

A tale of two pitches it seems.

Pathetic.
Clarke should retire.

Demons in the pitch?!
Hmmm, now that is a novel approach ....
something England would've been proud admitting to whilst having their arses
handed to them over the past year or so!
Three lbw's ... Marius' trigger finger working overtime?

Clarke's mind is clearly elsewhere. Aside from his ordinary form, just WTF was he thinking in NOT reviewing his lbw in the 2nd dig with a clear inside edge?? Boof was not impressed.
It's a disgrace that Pakistan can look so comfortable on the same pitch that we look like under-13s players.
Doolan clearly has no clue how to play spin, even though he was dismissed with a straight break.

And at least we have the Final of the DOD comp to watch on GEM today/tonight to save having to watch all of the last rites from Dubai.
Spivs will probably get smashed to top off an ordinary cricket watching weekend.

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 1st Test, Dubai, 22-26 October, 2014
do we need to make hard decisions for the 2nd Test? (not that the XI really matters)
ie drop Rogers (no more Tests) and play Hughes (on-going). rest MJ and drop Siddle.
Smith to 3 (Watson to come back for the home Tests)
Clarke
Maxwell
Marsh
Haddin
Starc
Lyon
O'Keefe
Hilfy

O'Keefe looks set to become a one-test-wonder. They'll probably bring in Maxwell for O'Keefe, Starc for Siddle, and Hughes for Doolan.

On recent exposed form Hughes deserves to come in but it would be harsh to drop Rogers who at least can guts it out on these pitches. Once he's dropped his career is done. Maxwell can't do any worse than SOK and at least he took some wickets in the limited overs fixtures and might make some handy runs.

As was pointed out this morning on 'The Offsiders', Clarke has rarely passed thirty in a lot of tests now. When he does he might go on but as Haigh observed he is very brittle early in his innings. Maybe the 'Morne Morkel' ton glossed over some problems.

Buck misses a straight one. The fat lady is warming up.

Marsh once again displays his shortcomings. This is painful to watch.
Re: Pakistan v Australia, 1st Test, Dubai, 22-26 October, 2014
Zulfiqur is an interesting bowler. He looks like, and has the action of some wily old club cricketer, but he can certainly bowl.
