Scyld Berry finds a positive
"England had waited a long time for this moment. After months, even years, of waiting and travelling around the globe, they eventually discovered a team that was much worse," Berry wrote.

He could bag single-figure scores from now until the end of August and he'll still be captain of the Ashes team.
I don't even think another 5-0 will do for him.
As long as he remains a bloody nice bloke and talks aspirationally about a vague, superior "brand of cricket", everything will be hunky dory.

I dunno. He's just lost a major ally in Paul Downton. Another backer James Whittaker is likely to be sacked tomorrow as well. Based on the comments I've heard from them so far, Graves and Harrison have avoided backing him to the hilt. I think everything is on the table. He needs runs and/or wins in the Caribbean otherwise he's gone.

In charge? He's buggering all the animals one by one as we speak.
Yes, somehow he remains employed by the ECB. He must be slipping them freebies from the chocolate factory. That's probably not a euphemism. Probably.

Well, one innings down and a few more to go.

Re: England's WI tour
Did he really get that many.
Bloody hell - I do him a terrible dis-service.
Well with that monstrous contribution (which it may well end up being, judging on the others so far) he'll certainly be inked in for the next 5 years.

Re: England's WI tour
Cook playing his 108th successive Test without missing one - only Allan Border in history has a longer unbroken sequence. He will take some shifting - where's doctorspin these days?
