Recall for Chris Woakes then - fair enough I suppose as he was the least worst of our bowlers in the WC

What a joy it is to see Chris Woakes back in the thick of things again...
Don't understand why Vince wouldn't be in both squads - it's hardly like he's a T20 specialist in his style of play. Same with Topley. If he's an interesting enough prospect for the T20 squad (tall left armer with a bit of nip) why not keep him around for the ODIs? Surely he's better off working with the England setup for a few weeks than with the Essex talent crushers.

I don't remember there being such a thing.

Neither do the players or the coaching staff.

I'd go Recall. Totally.

Total Recall. Another 90s reference. You're on fire.
Show me the money!
No, that was something else.

Our boys did - and in their version they won the WC with ease, having wowed the world with a run rate of over 2.46 over the course of the tourney. That said they were last seen getting dumped out of a Jonnycab onto a pavement in Acton.

JAMODI series, England v Australia, August 31 - September 13, 2015
Surely one thread should suffice for the whole lot of these exhibition games.
I'm struggling to raise much interest in them:
- the Ashes are gone, again, and these games seem largely irrelevant
- the next Gilly is 4 years away, most of those playing won't be around by then
- we're not going to learn much about these players that we don't already know
Anyone else have anything to stimulate interest in this series? I'm wondering if it might limbo below previous (low) attendance records for internationals between these countries. There may be very few there barring those unfortunates in tour groups who signed up for the games before the Ashes series even began.

Hold the front page! Ian Bell has retired from ODI's according to the BBC.
Ian old son, the selectors had sort of retired you anyway, but thanks for making it official.

No 50-ball 30s, whilst chasing 330? I'm devastated. *sniff* I'm welling up.

Typical Ian Bell - he only retires once someone else has retired first. Namely him, at the hands of the selectors a couple of months ago.

Topley didn't look like all that in a county T20 game I half watched. Great hair though.

I find it quite lame that Ch9 are showing the 3rd Womens T20I tonight, considering (a) it's being shown on delay and (b) they haven't cared to show us any of the other games of the tour (not even a highlights package)

Was worth watching just for Twatto's dismissal.
Wish he'd referred it.

Aus choked there. Should have seen it home.
And Twatto is hilarious. Steve Smith's very gay swan dive was equally amusing.

Must be the first time he's ever been unable to get his pad in the way of the ball.
