I can't understand why India and South Africa aren't batting Kohli and de Villiers respectively at number three. Rahane and du Plessis are good players, but they're not as good as Kohli and AB, so on the flat Indian pitches in ODIs, surely it makes sense to give your best players as many overs as possible to bat. It should be a no-brainer.

Would seem logical but AB seems to be able to pick up the pace from almost ball one so maybe they figure Faf et al would not be able to accelerate in the same way but they can derive benefits from them batting up the order.

AB could hit 200 off 120 balls at number three, rather than 100 off 60 balls at number four, and South Africa would be better off. 

Faf is a man you want to rebuild from 30-3, rather than a counter-punching number three in the power plays.

Another ton to de Kock but he throws it away with a shot suggestive of fatigue.

It wasn't suggestive of Fatique. He had been totally knackered for quite a while.

Very hot and very humid. Experience might also help him with pacing his innings better.

Actually the heat is incredibly draining. AB has looked fatigued from early in his innings.

Faf close to a ton.. There is a decent platform here but the pitch is easy so they will probably need a sizeable total.

eh, he's on 98 and cramping.

Faf cramping up badly but hitting boundaries.

Faf is one of the fitter players and he has also gone off for cramp.

So de Kock du Plessis and de Villiers - a bit of symmetry there.

AB out for 119 off 61 but SA will get over 400 here. Will be a tough chase for the Indians but the pitch is flat.

It was a bit like a smorgasbord but tough bowling conditions to be fair. Can India run this down?

If AB had stayed in they probably would have broken the all-time record. Or they needed Miller to get more strike in the last over. Yeah, forgot about that 439.
