Re: Steyn vs Lee
And if you never talked up Yuvraj as an all rounder, then what do you call this:Henry wrote:Zat wrote:Could've been worse, you could've been some stoopid pommy whinger talking up an Indian 'all rounder' who's done nothing.Paul Keating wrote:Paul Keating wrote:I cannot get over Lee's improvement recently.
I'd go Lee.
I said this a year ago?
FFS - what was I smoking?
You couldn't be a bigger c*nt if you tried. Actually Trev, I could be you, you pathetic snivelling excuse of a forumer.I never talked up Yuvraj as an all rounder you pathetic little man. It's easy to talk up a player who's doing well. I talked up Yuvraj when the results weren't showing his talent but now he's starting to come good.
As I've said elsewhere, he's had six or so years in the Indian team for mediocre results. You buffoon.Henry wrote:I've always thought Yuvraj was an outstanding talent, and some of his strokeplay is reminiscent of Garry Sobers. Obviously he hasnt achieved the same success as Sobers, but I really think it's time India considered dropping Laxman from the test team and playing Yuvraj. He gives India an X factor not just with his batting, but he's very good in the field as well.
His time has come.

Obviously you've scored a bad dose of crack in exchange for one of your back-alley headjobs.

His batting is reminiscent of Sobers. I never mentioned his left arm rubbish bowling.

Re: Steyn vs Lee
i think Lee's action needs to be a bit more side on as the swing he gets is quite manageable because the ball swings way too EARLY.

So on the strength of a couple of fifties, after six years in and out of the team, he's made it? You're easy to please.Henry wrote:His batting is reminiscent of Sobers. I never mentioned his left arm rubbish bowling.

Lee is finished. No doubt he'll come out and start babbling on about coming back "quicker than ever", but the guy is 32, clearly losing his pace, and has never been much better than average anyway.

I agree with Henry though that his claims that he will peak in his mid-thirties are rubbish and a desperate attempt at talking up career salvation.

Re: Steyn vs Lee
What scares me is that in 20 years time, Lee might be painted as a great fast bowler of the game and he will be teaching kids etc and future test players will be calling on him for help to iron out any issues.
It's the stuff of nightmares.

Well, there's a cricket coaching mob calling Graham Yallop and Ashley Mallet 'greats' plugging a series of workshops they're doing around my part of the world at the moment.

Hehe, nice bump by Smerkle, right into a Saffie's lap.
Nah, I rate him highly, taips. Steyn is clearly the no. 1 quick in the world at the mo.

you 'twit' ... it was bumped by the pace-obsessed PP this time, and it was my fault a year earlier

Probably just Lee at the moment, but Steyn is getting better all the time.
At THAT TIME, I think this was a fair assessment. Obviously now, the answer is obvious.
