Right in the batsman's eyeline. Thought that was unique to Derbyshire.embee wrote:Play stopped for excess sunlight

Yorkshire capitulated to Middlesex in a spectacular way. Nice 62 from beetle on debut.

It's the tightest Div 1 for years.

So who's this bloke Donald from Glamorgan who's smashed the fastest first class double hundred of all time?

That mum who just took out a restraining order against you, for fear you'd big her son up ... her son.

Doesn't matter anymore after this post. A career of mediocrity approaches and his current FC average of 42 will fall over the next fifteen years and finish at around 30 odd.Henry wrote:So who's this bloke Donald from Glamorgan who's smashed the fastest first class double hundred of all time?

Sounds like every Glamorgan batsman since Maynard, so it wouldn't be a shock.

Sadly it was against a side that would struggle to give Stoke Poges Over 80s Third Xl a decent game

Durham's Stoneman to Surrey next year. I swear that the player merry-go-round starts earlier and earlier.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Durham born and bred, and they're right in the mix for the Championship this season. Has he had a falling out with them? Or are Durham's financial difficulties starting to catch up with them?
Durham has been a hot-bed of English cricketing talent for the last decade, so it would be a real shame if their financial problems bring a halt to the conveyor belt of talent.

Aye, and I think that's why they're falling in behind the latest T20 franchise wheeze that Grocer Graves is promoting.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Recordo Gordon, apart from having one of the best names, seems to have an action that looks a bit questionable on first sight, a bit like Eranga's.

Gordon'a action has always looked a bit dodgy to me. His effort ball (ok, 80mph then!) took a couple of batsmen by surprise, I wouldn't be surprised if he pinged them.
Bowlers don't get called these days. First of all, it seems to be a quiet word in someone's ear from the umpires. That's what appears to have happened with Charlie Morris when it was suggested last season, I understand, that he pinged his quicker ball. He's spent most of this season remodelling his action.

Seems a sound way of going about things. Just got to find a way to ensure that the chucking doesn't occur in the interim.

Re: English Domestic Season 2016
Div 1 is insane this season; only 20 points separate the top six. It's a very brave person who can nominate the winner from this distance.
