Katter's support already comes with a long list of "buts", and that's just from the presser. The "no union bashing"would normally be a problem but with what's just happened probably won't be an issue.

Actually his press conference was pretty matter of fact. "I acted in good conscience, respect your right to disagree, the CIA and MI6 farked up, the power to make war rests with the executive not the legislative, nothing to see here so piss off and stop bothering me".

The attack poodle claims victory

"Christopher Pyne says the Coalition has won the election, claiming it's an "an election-winning machine".

The government holds 73 seats on Friday morning - three short of a majority - with Labor on 66.

Appearing on the TODAY Show this morning, Mr Pyne said the Coalition would form a majority government, after co-host Ben Fordham suggested it would not be a “resounding” victory if they did.

“Well Ben, we’ve won the election. We’ve got 74 seats in the bank, and very likely to win Herbert, Capricornia and Flynn, we’re even an outside chance still in Hindmarsh and Cowan, so we will form a majority government.” "

This is a Labor triumph, though. A resounding victory. Don't take anything away from them.

I'm just wondering which of Albanese and Bowen (who has been all over the media for the last week) will blink first and challenge the automaton.

Actually I did a couple of shifts scrutineering and his guys in Capricornia at least looked more than a little glum. The same in Herbert too apparently, which I;m more than a little stunned about. Hard to believe the Libs have stuffed the whole thing up this badly.

Looks like the Pinkos are going to pick up the last seat on the back of the Provisional votes.

Why not? The Tories have no alternatives who can win them an election.

Seriously?

Truffles did well recovering the browns' stocks after the nadir reached by the MM and his fellow fascists such as Erica and Pope Andrews. Provided those extremists and fellow ultras including those in the Murdoch press are kept in check, they will bolt in the next election.

That's pinko rainbow unicorn dreaming dust you are sprouting , horrie

Abbott left to run his term would have won by more than this ...Would still have had a swing but not this big

Mehlcolm has been too arrogant in his leadership and not decisive ...too many thought bubbles made public ...too many changes that can be labelled as 'cruel'

Needs to let ScoMo and the Belgian Waffler work out a budget recovery that involves more than stealing from super and giving tax breaks to higher income earners.

And he needs to get on with the Pooftah Marriage Plebiscite with a question that is loaded towards Equal Marriage Rights so it gets voted in

Yes, yes, I'm harping but I have to say I'm encouraged by Shortarse's ruminations about the heinous retrospective nature of the proposed Super changes. I hope the Senate insists on grandfathering for those who made decisions re: retirement based on the laws of the day i.e. farkin me!!

I won't hold my breath but.

By 8 votes as it turns out.

You know Hanson and Kruger are on (over) the extreme edge when a Guardian Australia article makes Barnaby Joyce seem like the voice of reason

Interesting comment. Barnaby has never really come across as extreme. Admittedly some of his members and some of his voters in some electorates make this Kruger (WTF is she anyway) seem intelligent, but you're right that the left is that worried it's using a right figurehead to promote a left agenda.
