Sadiq Khan, the new Muslim Mayor of London, has declared that pictures of scantily-clad female models will be banned from ads on public transportation, ushering in some of the most fundamentalist Islamic censorship policies in the Western world. (Hey, you Londoners voted in a Muslim for mayor, what did you think you were going to get?)
Seems to me like he isn't doing it for Islamic fundamentalist reasons. I think I can imagine the sort of site you've quoted from though.
There's plenty of problems with Islam but let's not twist stories to fit an agenda.

Re: Islam - what is it all about?
As these sort of ads have been around forever, i was just curious to see what Londoners thought. Bit hard to get a true perspective from 10,000 mile away.
Re: Islam - what is it all about?
Fair enough.
My thoughts on the issue are probably a bit bias, no secret that a good friend of mine took her own life last year and negative body image was a big issue with her so anything that lessens the affect these ads have I will always be in support of.

Oddly enough a lot of women are against the ban.

Doesn't seem that odd, I imagine lots of people disagree on the matter.

It does when you consider that for years the PC brigade have been pushing it down our throats that all women object to the demeaning advertising. It appears that once again the minority are forcing their views on everyone else.

Fair enough, I haven't heard anyone say that all women object to demeaning advertising before, must be getting our information from different sources though.

Isis wife gets suspended sentence
"The wife of notorious Australian terrorist Mohamed Elomar has been given a suspended jail sentence for supporting him so he could fight for Islamic State.
Fatima Elomar pleaded guilty to providing support for the terrorist group.
The 31-year-old, who was arrested by counter-terrorism officers in May 2014, was given a suspended sentence of two years and three months and a good behaviour bond."

So much for our judges getting tough on terrorists.

Judges like our politicians are terrified of upsetting the Musi's. They would rather invite them to taxpayer funded dinners & ignor the 'Elephant in the room' every time they preach sedition & hatred.

Saudi Arabia places a Fatwa on Pokemon Go because it (according to them) depicts Jewish & Christian symbols...what a pack of retards.

Saudi woman flaunts her pretty face
"The Saudi woman was going out for breakfast when she decided to make a statement. Violating the country’s moral codes, she reportedly stepped out in public wearing a multicolored dress, a black jacket and ankle boots — without a hijab or abaya, a loosefitting garment.
Late last month, she tweeted a photo of her outfit, and the post circulated through Saudi Arabia, drawing death threats and demands to imprison or even execute the woman.
On Monday, police in the country’s capital of Riyadh said they had arrested the woman, following their duty to monitor “violations of general morals,” a spokesman, Fawaz al-Maiman, said, AFP reported. The woman, who is in her 20s, was imprisoned after posting the tweet of herself standing next to a popular Riyadh cafe, he said.
...
Shehri, whose first name means angel, soon received hateful messages, including many with the hashtag “we demand the imprisonment of the rebel Malak al-Shehri.”
One account tweeted “we want blood.” Other users wrote, “Kill her and throw her corpse to the dogs” and “The least punishment for her is beheading her.” "

Sad times in Riyadh.
Quite a beautiful woman as well...

Silly girl. She must have known that taunting such a repressive, misogynistic & violent ideology would have repercussions.
Re: Islam - what is it all about?
Aye, one wonders what she expected to achieve. Maybe world attention?

Sounds like it was due to Russian intervention in Syria rather than ideology.

I was staying in Charlottenburg visiting Christmas markets only a couple of weeks ago. Sad to see.
