Meanwhile, I wonder if there is a place for a competition called something like The Long Contemplative Game, as an antidote to the Big Bashy Bish Bosh and its counterparts around the globe, The Death by 100 Cuts, for example.

Franchises might be allowed, if they were for (genuinely) charitable purposes only.

Team names I'd suggest, to give a flavour of the health-restoring nature of such a new competition:

The Perth Philosophers
The Melbourne Meditators
The New South Wellness
The Brisbane Back Therapists
The Hobart Holistic Healers
The Western Wisemen

Amateurs representing safe, slower-pace vocations might also be invited:

The Queensland Copy Editors
The Adelaide Architects

The ACT Actuaries

The Victoria Vehicle Inspectors

Well, it's a thought. The games could stretch out in leisurely fashion over 2 or three weeks.

Pooran scored 89 off 26 balls a couple of days ago and was given out on a catch that bounced

Lynnsanity also has an 89

2/183 might still be the highest score
