2,213 new cases. I really hope that the Health Minister Brad Hazzard's prediction of a possible peak of 29,000 new cases a day doesn't eventuate, largely due to the (hopefully) commonsense of Dubbers.
I will be wearing my mask and avoiding the great unwashed for the foreseeable future.
I'm spending most of next week in Sydney - any advice from a local expert on TGU avoidance would by very helpful

Almost 1000 additional people have received potentially wrong Covid test information from a Sydney pathology lab, just one day after it incorrectly told 400 infected people they had tested negative.
SydPath – operated by St Vincent’s Hospital – confirmed on Monday afternoon that approximately 995 extra people, tested on December 23 and 24, were prematurely sent an SMS advising them their test was negative when their true result had not yet been determined.
The update comes after 400 people were told on Sunday that they had tested negative when they had tested positive to the virus.
what are they doing at St Vincents?!

The exponential growth in cases up north from a few weeks ago is mindblowing. NSW had done so well to contain cases and deaths post opening up.
That's a quantum leap in one day though.

Dammit, VIC beat us to 50,000 a day.
Feels like a matter of time until our family gets it. Hopefully we can hold off until after the holiday next week.

We cheated though, because more than half are RATs from home testing and up to 7000 RATs from earlier in the week.

Is it all over now? Are we just back to bird flu?
I still wear a mask, mainly cos I don't like the lines, that are getting deeper, around my lips.

Keep wearing the mask, Demmy (as I do). This plague still has a way to go yet.
As we come into the Aus winter we are expecting covid numbers to explode.
Things may be better in the UK summer.
