We all know who the big bad Physeter catodon off St Kilda beach is. Smiffy had better not try it on there.

Warwick Armstrong or Dr Grace, more like.
There's big and there's ... well there's ... huge.
As skully told us.

So these guys, who play cricket for a living, completely forget now to catch a ball when the fielding coach is away for a few weeks? FFS, theat's pretty soft.noelene wrote:I finally got an answer on whether the fielding coach was with the Aussies.Apparently not.

While fielding coach Mike Young recently arrived before the looming one-day series
Explains a lot.

Well, England forgot how to bowl as soon as Troy Cooley packed his bags and headed home.
Cricketers are idiots.

Remember when merlin was extolling the virtues of Cooley right up until the moment he left? Good times.

And players like Hayden who has spent a lot of time in the slips would not need a fielding coach,as much as someone who is new to that position.

I guess we all know about Haydos and the bowling machine workouts.
It's probably obvious but having just read two Steve Waugh diary books consecutively I was surprised how much value he placed on net sessions.
He repeatedly said things like I spent a long session in the nets before the so and so test/game and was timing the ball well hopefully I will take this form into the match.
Or after a cheap dismissal I need to get back to the nets tomorrow and rectify my problem.
He was bordering on fanatical about his net sessions.

Ian Botham spent his net sessions trying to hit the press photographers with lofted drives.

It certainly helped him then as well.

Don't worry, Dello will Rikki the t20 thread shortly, and consign this one to history.
Don't forget, t20 is the way of the future and far more important.
Now I might just nip off and wash my mouth out.

Never said anything different or changed my mind about him.Invader Zim wrote:Remember when merlin was extolling the virtues of Cooley right up until the moment he left? Good times.
Still rate Cooley highly as a bowling coach ...
So what ? He returned to Oz for more money ... nothing at all wrong with that!
A reformed capitalist! That's all.

He returned to Aus because he was Australian. The ECB could have offered him much more than CA.

No. He returned to Aus because the ECB refused to pay him what the Australian board was willing to pay.

I'm pretty sure it was because the ECB would only give him a one-year contract rather than being a money thing. Edit:
