It's about time Fox had some competition. Their scheduling, and the quality of their live feeds (When was the last time a live cricket game on Fox wasn't interrupted by a break in transmission at some stage?) is pretty awful.

Anything that dilutes Nein's grip on sport has to be a good thing.

Don't know what it's showing here. Haven't bothered with HD yet, I don't believe there's anything different on it in my part of the world yet.

My understanding is that the SD channel will show the 'major' sports broadcasts, but the HD will basically become 24 hour sport. On the weekend just gone they showed some pre-season stuff (like on the SD channel) but also golf and gridiron (I think)...

It starts on 26.03.09 ...they will call it One (but it's Ten HD)

They have been advertising a footy panel show on Monday nights ...Walls and 1/4maine are the ten experts ...Richo highpants and Harley are the footy talent

Ten HD has been showing Golf and NBA recently as well as the NASCAR and NFL which they have shown for a while

I read in the paper that when they were showing the world matchplay golf, Tiger Woods' first round in competition since coming back from injury, they cut it abruptly to go to 'David and Kim'.

Not an auspicious portent of things to come.

Ten to have a Sports Channel ? Empty Re: Ten to have a Sports Channel ?

Post by Invader Zim Sun 15 Mar 2009, 11:10

For Zat...

When will ONE launch?

ONE will launch at 7.30pm on Thursday 26 March. The first program will be a 30-minute "Welcome to ONE" special. Viewers in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth will then head to the MCG for the AFL Round 1 blockbuster between Carlton and Richmond. Viewers in Brisbane and Sydney will head to the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre for a special Swimming Australia SKINS event.

The SKINS will immediately follow the AFL in Melbourne Adelaide and Perth and vice-versa in Sydney and Brisbane.

Several sneak peak sporting events will also air prior to March 26 including the Telstra Australian Swimming Championships from March 17 – 22.

What channel will ONE be on?

ONE will be available in high definition (HD) on channel 1 and in standard definition (SD) on channel 12.

How do I get ONE?

In order to access ONE in HD on channel 1, viewers will need either a high definition television or a high definition set-top-box or another high definition digital device connected to their television. Viewers can then press "1" on their remote control to access ONE.

To access ONE in SD, viewers will need either a digital television or a digital set-top-box attached to their analogue television. Viewers can then tune in to channel 12 to view ONE.

What sports will I see on ONE?

ONE will show a variety of domestic and international sport, LIVE and exclusive wherever possible. Sports to be shown on ONE include:

AFL – the 2009 home and away season and finals including the Grand Final;

Netball – all matches from the 2009 ANZ Championship and all test matches featuring the Australian Diamonds;

Commonwealth Games – 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Swimming – Australian Swimming Championships, Pan Pacific Championships, Australian Short Course Championships, FINA World Short Course Championships and the Swimmer of the Year.

Cricket – Indian Premier League Twenty20 competition and Champions League Twenty20 competition, the world's 2 leading franchise based Twenty20 tournaments.

Formula 1 – every round of the F1 World Championship.

MotoGP – every round of the MotoGP World Championship.

Golf – The Masters, the US Open, the World Golf Championships including the Accenture MatchPlay Championship, the CA Championship, the Bridgestone Invitational and the World Cup, Australian PGA, ANZ Ladies Masters, 2010 Ryder Cup and 15 additional international and domestic events including the Asian Tour's flagship Singapore Open and season ending Volvo Masters of Asia.

NASCAR – coverage of major Sprint Cup races as well as coverage of every round of the Nationwide Series. Additional weekly highlights of every round of the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series.

National Football League (NFL) – three games per week live including the flagship Sunday and Monday night games as well as LIVE coverage of play-offs and the Superbowl.

Major League Baseball (MLB) – five games per week LIVE including prime time coverage of the play-offs and World Series.

National Basketball League (NBA) – three games per week live

US College Sports – NCAA Basketball and Football.
