Which Aussie FTA channel has the Ashes?
Well? It's been SBS the last couple of series in England. Do they have it again?

Will Nine show a whole day's play? Or will they do their trick of showing some Seppo drama shit up until 10pm before going to the cricket after the lunch break?

There was a bit in the paper that said 0.5M people watched the WC qualifier on Foxy and 1.5M watched it on SBS. Given that the SBS coverage included Craig Foster (and was delayed) I assume anyone who had a choice would watch it on Fox.
I was amazed that so many people still don't have Foxy

As mentioned in another thread, I met Simon Hill the other night. Was happy (I think) to give me a lot of his time until I mentioned that I am a Man U fan. And I used the word "soccer".

I don't even watch NRL on Nein anymore. I wait until it is shown in HD on Fox, even if it is delayed.
Sport is made to be watched on HD so I refuse to watch Nein where there are alternatives.

I hope you suggested he calls the national side the footballroos then.
A few years ago the FFA d1cks would not go on BSB because TK refused to call it anything but Soccer. It is hardly in a position (particularly back then) to knock back fee publicity for petty sh1t like that
Hill is the best soccer caller we have though - and by a long way

Re: Which Aussie FTA channel has the Ashes?
That is a low bar. Not missing much, then.
I actually watch very little television. Test cricket when it's televised FTA, a bit of AFL including every Cats game that's telecast, the news, and a few favoured ABC and SBS shows, but none of the stuff that seems to be the major topic of discussion and dissection here.

Aye. Fact is that most of the English speaking world call it soccer.
When I am with "football" snobs I call it association football.

Re: Which Aussie FTA channel has the Ashes?
It reemphasises the gayness of the sport.
Diving and being stretchered off shits me to tears. Last night in the NRL, one of the Rooters players had a guy accidentally dive front on into his knee which hyperextended. He was rolling around on the ground in obvious pain but eventually hobbled off without a stretcher.
