I would put Laxman ahead of Chanderpaul, and would put Chanderpaul ahead of Inzi.

what the heck?
Inzi is better than both of them. I get the sense that Hulk is quite underrated on this forum

That might have something to do with averaging about 2 against Australia this millenium.

but seriously you can't dismiss a player of his class based on 2 tests(one of which was the "joke" test between World 11 and AUS)

That's the thing.
His ability to be unavailable for matches against Australia is the stuff of legends.
Mind you he is not Robinson-ul-Crusoe in that regard.

the 2002 Sharjah series pull out was quite weird....
Not sure why did it because in the previous series he had done quite well against AUS....i remember him getting a brilliant 100 in the INfamous Hobart game and before that who can forget that 58* partnership win Mushy to win the game and the series in the 1994 series....
Brilliant player was Inzi...certainly better than Lax and Chanders

Inzi was class. The clue to that lies in the fact that he was class.

Don't think any player of Inzi's ability would be scared to play against any team. Knowing pak's cricket, most likely there would have been reasons beyond cricket for Inzi to miss out matches against Aus.

He's certainly the most in form batsman in the world. Still scores too slowly to be feared though.

Snail pace batting hasn't stopped Kallis, Hussey, or Dravid from being considered the best in the world.
Kallis, Dravid and Chanders score at around 42-44.
Hussey a tad quicker at 49.

thats absolutely ridiculous. lots of batsmen seem to average >100 over a year or two in this decade. iirc sangakarra had a similar two year average till recently

Re: Chanderpaul
Chanderpaul's averages by country since BCL's retirement are pretty special too:
442 runs @ 147.33 vs Australia
446 runs @ 148.66 vs England
176 runs @ 176.00 vs New Zealand
247 runs @ 82.33 vs South Africa
130 runs @ 43.33 vs Sri Lanka
Top-class batsman; better than Inzi as well.

Why is it ridiculous?
Augustus's stats show that he has done it against all nations.
