Retreat theme running through this thread.
It started at the top with Bonaparte and Stalingrad.
Now it's spread to not fighting them on the beaches.

Wasn't bleedin' snowing then.
But I think that Boris should have better plans in place to deal with this sort of thing. I bet the Germans and Scandinavians can cope with four inches of snow.

Aye. Just think Canada and -15 temps and 2 ft of snow. Mind you, not often it snows in London to be fair

Can't say it's my proudest moment as a Londoner. Although I did meet a homeless person today who made a sculpture of a stoned Jimi Hendrix lying on a couch out of snow. Fair play.
The person who turns on the heating couldn't make it to work today so they had to shut the building and send us home. Great.

They didn't have to.

Legally they did - or do you have some special health & safety knowledge?
It was so cold I couldn't wear my bikini.

It's my job. I've got a Level 3 qualification in it and am studying for my Level 6.
There is no lower temperature limit for the workplace in the Legislation, else nobody could work legally in the freezers at Tesco's or on a North Sea oil rig. The HSE Guidance Note on the subject suggests 16C minimum for an office, but an employer cannot be prosecuted for failing to follow a Guidance Note.

A-ha I suspected as much.
Shouldn't you do level 4 & 5 first?

Well, a Level 3 is about the same as an A-level, while a Level 6 is more like a degree.
One day I'd like to do a Level 4 in something related to H&S such as Environmental Law.

Snowing steadily now, but still only barely an inch of lying snow.

Seldom has Morph's wave been as meaningful as in Lever's last post.

It was too cold to take them off..... Not the carrot, obviously... Then again Easter Island Statues don't have them either...

Erm, thanks.
Did really you expect me to put genitalia on my snow statue? My youngest isn't quite nine....

Re: Weather comes in from Siberia
I've never known snow like it here. It's so beautiful and, just watching the local BBC1 Spotlight weather, there's loads more to come for Cornwall.
Question - is it best to leave the car covered in snow over night, or should I get it off now and wrap it up for bed? I need it for 6 in the morning.

Re: Weather comes in from Siberia
If it snows you'll have to uncover it in the morning whatever, do what will make that easier at 6am!

Looks a bit scary in the dark and I've been told it needs "abs" to look really cool tomorrow....
