Re: Aussie Ashes Squad
I don't think Broad's weakness is lack of heart, or courage. Everyone who has played with him remarks not only on his intelligence, but his "wise head on young shoulders".
Didn't he get hit for 30 (36?) in one over, and come back pretty soon after with good figures?
I would guess Danny is rather uncertain if he has a bit of the David Capels about him - pitching it up just nicely (and not too fast) to be hit handsomely around the park by Test batsmen.
Personally, I think he has improved gradually but conspicuously, and is now generally a reliably threatening bowler. ~ I could of course be wrong!

Heard his sister is one to watch. Says you. Haven't seen her yet.
Re: Aussie Ashes Squad
Bah - soz Danny. Didn't mean to "speak for you". Was just trying to interpret what I thought you thought was the problem. In case you'd had to hop off.

Actually she looked hot in the clips shown in the 3rd ODI, she was filming the play for analysis from the gantry. Still pics, less impressive...

That's cool Peter, I'm actually being naughty at the mo, but I'm already in holiday mode and there's no bosses around - not that it matters, I'm still getting audited.
I just haven't got the heart to play goody-two-shoes any more.

It's all that stump-smashing their dad did. Built up the wildly debonair look.

Photos don't do a great deal of justice. I'm sure she's fit. Don't worry.

FWIW, if England win Ashes 09, I reckon Stuart Broad will have played a large part.

In a probably vain attempt to get the forum away from RD's sex life. (How can one encounter in a gazillion years count as a sex life?)
Hope we get to see a lot more of your insight, plus some more of your Friday funnies now that you're back on deck.

Re: Aussie Ashes Squad
Coupla stories...
The Squnt says Fred's a big risk.
Australia captain Ricky Ponting has warned England that playing Andrew Flintoff in the forthcoming Ashes series could be fatal if the all-rounder is not fully fit.
Ponting and his teammates flew into England this week ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament which precedes the Ashes and the combative batsman wasted little time turning up the heat on the old enemy.
While Ponting claims he feels refreshed and ready for battle after four weeks away from the game, England are fretting over the fitness of Flintoff, as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
And...
Paris talks up Aus balance
Michael Hussey is tipping Australia's mix of youth and experience to guide the team to Ashes victory, despite admitting he is expecting a "huge challenge" in the looming series.
As Australia's World Twenty20 squad arrived in Birmingham, Hussey laid out the virtues of the new faces and fired out a warning to a confident England side:
"We have a mixture of young fresh faces like Phil Hughes, who is so exciting, with a lot of talent, and has done well in his initial time as this level.
"We have some good experienced players as well. Hopefully that blend will help us but I think what really matters isn't whether you are young or old but doing the business out in the middle. That's all that counts.
"But we have got an excellent squad… one with a lot of confidence out of winning the Test series in South Africa."
Thoughts?

Re: Aussie Ashes Squad
Tis a pity there's not more of a balance between the number batsmen and the rest of the team.
Plus we'll have a lot of players to depend on whose only cricket for a while will have been T20.

Indeed, qmy, a point that has been well made by the Emporer and then Spanky.
Ya gotta wonder whether AB was tanked during the NSP session for the Ashes squad selection to let these qunts get away with this imbalance.
