Still, it shoudln't be up to countries to determine who umpires them.

Aye, but as i've mentioned already - Big D is looking after number 1 after being shafted...

Re: PCB to sue Rudi
Wouldn't stamping out the cheats be good for both the spirit and the future of the game?
And therefore it follows that, as an Elite Panel umpire, wouldn't it be in Koertzen's creed to follow that principle - and as such, shouldn't making a statement on the issue, reflecting such beliefs, be expected ?
So why then should Koertzen be either embarrassed or indeed p!ssed off at being quoted - whether the conversation was private or not - at a tribunal which will, hopefully, serve to bring justice to one of his colleagues on the Elite Panel?
Once again, sabre rattling from the 'holier than thou' PCB wo continue to view both themselves and their players as above suspicion!
Deja vu anyone?

Agreed.Still, it shoudln't be up to countries to determine who umpires them.
I doubt this move of PCB will pave way for Rudi's ouster from elite panel.

The most humorous outcome I can imagine is Hair winning his case, being reinstated to the Elite Panel, and then he and Koertzen being appointed to officiate in an India v Pakistan Test. Fanciful of course, but would be hella funny.

India vs Pakistan? Surely Aus/Eng/NZ vs Pakistan?

Erm no. The intensity of an India/Pakistan clash with all the normal angst between the neighbours, spiced up with one or two dubious Hair decisions against the Paksters, would be rivetting viewing. And it couldn't be an Aus match, Big D being an Aussie and all.doremi wrote:India vs Pakistan? Surely Aus/Eng/NZ vs Pakistan?

With Steve Bucknor as the 3rd umpire. I'd watch that series for the umpiring alone.

Yeah, with Steve and Rudi on the job, they're bound to be a lot of howlers.

This is what some claimed to do on another site I go on. He said about the discrepancy of descisions between the Asian and non-Asian teams when Hair's officiated.
I asked how many matches he's seen Hair officiate and he said "about 25 Tests and 10 ODIs". He stuck to it for a couple of posts, then I said "well, that's only 33% of the Tests and 8% of the ODIs he's officiated in", then it descended into "it's probably 50% and 50%".
How you mistake not seeing another 13 or more Tests and 60 ODIs I really don't know. Then he reckoned India have been getting foreign series since Hair started in 92, so he's probably seen most of them.
By that point I'd lost interest.

Any series, for instance, of NZ v WI, SA v Eng... whatever, every Pak home series etc. on TV. Live.
