Wasn't there a report about Sherman being angry the other day? Has he been exposed to Gamma rays? Will he be cricket's version of Bruce Banner and turn into the Hulk?

Ithink Strauss and Flower have run out of patience with Bell. I'd put MPV, Shah, Bopara and even Rob Key ahead of him in the queue.

Wouldn't put much between them myself. Bell's been flattered by circumstances at stages of his career and the numbers have made him look much better than he really is. Key has probably gone the other way, looking worse than he really is, but neither of them excite me much.

Re: "Bullish Bell seeks Ashes Redemption"
Here's an interesting Bell stat which I just discovered...
Balls Runs Dismissals Average Runs/over
Ian Bell 34 18 5 3.60 3.17
This is how Bell fared against Zaheer Khan since November 2006.
I know what your all thinking "Smerky, wtf has this gotta do with the Ashes?" Well, basically, If Johnson and Clark are fighting fit and in form (like Zak) come July 8th, then Bell will endure another torrid tour and Strauss will surely keep him out of the side for good.

Either way, Terry deserves a shot at redemption.

I'm hoping Ian Bell can also gain some clarification, he certainly needs it.

Didn't do Mark Waugh any harm. Except in his case it was mid-on.

Re: "Bullish Bell seeks Ashes Redemption"
Actually Ian Bell has the goods and he did show a lot of potential at the start. Somehow he faded away a bit even before England's trip to India. He is a good fielder too. I accept he should be replaced but definitely not with that potato Key. Reminds me a little of Jesse Ryder. The comparison is, however, limited to stature.
Something tells me Bell will play through the Ashes.
