There is no way Holding is better than Wasim/Hadlee/Lillee/Ambrose
The greatest off spinner ever and one of the two greatest leg spinners ever, bowling in tandem. Watching these guys bowl to Hobbs and Hutton (especially on a sticky) would be the best bit of this match.
I can see the point regarding Holding but no fast bowler can have been better to watch. Holding and Marshall bowling to Bradman would be very interesing.
Maybe it should be any two from Holding/Wasim/Hadlee/Lillee/Ambrose.
Luckily for the Don ...Marshall is in his team
Indeed. It seems very wrong that Marshall was bowling for the Heaven XI for a year or two before Bradman swapped sides.

Quote someone else, edit their post with your opinion.
Then type in FIXED at the bottom.

Heaven XI (for a Test match)
Hobbs
Hutton
Bradman
Headley
Hammond
Trumper/ Ranji (I wanted to include a Golden Age batsman)
Oldfield
Marshall
Lindwall/ Trueman/ Larwood/ Turner/ Richardson etc (there's probably no obvious choice for the second quick)
Barnes
O'Reilly
Not really sure what to do with WG, Miller and a few others.
Anyone want to have a crack at the Earth XI?
I'm procrastinating while working an overnight shift on a #&*#ing long weekend!
I agree with most of your team JGK.
I'd pick Trueman as the second fast bowler from that short list. I'd also include Miller at Number 6 instead of Trumper.
The Earth XI's a lot tougher - I'll need to think about it.

Fair enough. I didn't pick Miller because Hammond is a fine 5th bowler. Frankly, if the other 4 can't get it done it would be hard to see Miller doing much more than Hammond although Hutton was always one to praise Miller's unpredictability.

Considering he was known as "The Demon" he's probably only eligible for the Hell XI.

Barry Richards was a genius who used his bat like a rapier. Sehwag is a bully who uses his like a sledgehammer. Both hugely effective in their own way but Sehwag isn't really in Richards' league.

but the harsh reality is that at the end of the day he only played 4 test matches so he shouldn't even be considered.

Re: Heaven XI v Earth XI
He played WSC and dominated county cricket for over a decade.
He also scored 325 in a day in Sheild cricket against an attack including Lillee and Massie who were the Australian openers at the time.
Very few who saw both Richards and Sehwag would, I think, chose Viru.

What about a Hell XI?
Chris Tavare', Tim Zoehrer, Martin McCague, Tino Best must be candidates.
