Re: Ireland v England - Only ODI, Belfast 27th August
This is some way from being a first choice England side, but a fifth choice side should be good enough to win this. Just like Holland in the T20, you have to take these games seriously or you come unstuck. Play a full-strength team. It may be a JAMODI but it's international cricket and you've got to keep the momentum up by playing every game like it's an Ashes decider or World Cup final.
England are still generally awful in this format though, with a team full of the not quite good enough, the out of form and the untried. We rely on two players to win us games, unfortunately they are both injured!

Collingwood has been in charge of some right crappy performances hasn't he? Just a rubbish captain.
You would fancy anyone chasing 116 in a twenty over game, whereas you would have to fancy us over the full 50 overs.
Another thing - just like the WI T20 game - WTF with dodgy weather around are we batting first?

England a tad unlucky to have the game shortened to 20 overs (although Ireland are chasing ~ 55% of the runs in 40% of the overs).
Still - snigger.

And what excuse does the England captain have for missing the game btw?
And when did we get so good that we can leave 2 of our best bowlers out when our major bowler is injured?

Snigger indeed, though I did have a sneaky fiver on Ireland at 11-1

I gotta get a better sense of this betting schtick; can you open a betting account if you're from outside the UK (sorry it's a 'lazy question'; I know I could research it meself).

I don't think your government likes you Yankees to bet. Lots of restrictions for US peeps - cant use Betfair for instance

Thanks JKL.
Surprising that the US does not allow people to bet. It could be a restriction on the 'UK side'. Will check it out.

Obviously decided to give Strauss a few days off given that he's not part of the T20 squad. Leaving out Broad and Anderson does seem strange though, leaving only two frontline seamers one of which is the very inexperienced at this level Bresnan.JKLever wrote:And what excuse does the England captain have for missing the game btw?

I was looking at this side and thinking who exactly would captain it if not Collingwood - any ideas?

Terrible call, mate.
Even AFTER Messers Duck and Lew give you all the help, Ireland keep a wicket intact and pass your prediction by a clear 7 runs.
You'll need middle-aged spread betting to collect on that.

Australias turn tomorrow to play Jockistan, I think it'll be on the BBC Website strangley even if todays wasn't.
As for today - positives - Denly, Bresnan
Difficult to be too critical without seeing any play especially playing on a club wicket.
